Booked meal online, on entering restaurant was seated by waitress food arrived quickly. Starters were ok. Main meals arrived not long after - both burgers (chicken and beef) were overcooked and very dry. Eldest son managed to eat the chicken burger but younger son could not eat the beef burger as it was extremely dry and indelible (he did try) we notified waitress and then the original lady came back and said “we have served over 40 burgers today and no one else has complained so I’m going to out this one down to your taste” when we asked what she meant she said she was not prepared to take this off the bill as it was his taste not the restaurants fault. We told her we were not prepared to pay for a meal that was inedible and she immediately got very cross and told us “what do you expect to come in here and have a free meal” my husband told her she was rude. She went to speak to the chef and said they would take the burger off the bill but we would have to pay for the chips (£4 - my son ate approx 5 chips) when we got up to pay, the poor lady behind the bar had clearly been told to check our money - very embarrassing for her…. As we were leaving the restaurant the original waitress said very loudly don’t come back again - my husband did answer back to tell her we would not attend again due to her rude behaviour and that she should know better. Tbh the rest of the food we received was pretentious and overpriced and not particularly nice. The only reason we complained about the burger was because it was inedible. I have never been treated so rudely and aggressively by a waitress in a restaurant - clearly needs a lesson in customer service.

Sunday roast was on the pricier side but well worth it. Wonderful food, great service and filling portions. Would definitely recommend, can see why it's so popular and you need to book in advance.

2nd visit did not disappoint- have the burger- gorgeous, husband had the chicken and leek pie (my recommendation) and he loved it just as much as me. We will be back.

Amazing service from the table staff, and beautiful surroundings. The food was perfect. No complaints!

It was our first visit to The Piccadilly and it won’t be our last. I had the chicken and leek pie which was excellent my husband had the fish and chips, he said the chips were the best he’d ever had. Lovely atmosphere, excellent service. We highly recommend going.

Four of us attended to eat. All the food was lovely except for the sole which my daughter ordered. It was far too salty for her and she could not finish it ? When we made enquiries we were told that the sole was brined prior to cooking which explained the saltiness but perhaps other diners should be made aware of this? It would not stop us returning however.

Visit number three…just as wonderful as the first. The sourdough with wagu butter nibble is a must. The staff are friendly and can’t do enough to make your visit enjoyable. Do yourself a huge favour and stop off for a bite to eat or for a drink.
