Took well over an hour to receive our food. Food was room temperature at best, not hot at all. Drink order was wrong but decided not to say anything because we didn’t want to wait longer. Ended up being there for over two hours which was crazy considering what our meal was.Staff was friendly but wouldn’t go back based on this experience.

Very authentic, good and tasty, only issue a lot of tables booked at the same time so a bit slower then anticipated service.

Linda and I enjoyed the Afternoon Tea which was part of the Dine Around. The food was delicious and very flavourful. The tea selection was huge and we both found a new tea to enjoy (Mystic Rainforest from Silk Road Tea). Service was excellent and our table by the window was perfect. We will definitely be back.

Finally excellent afternoon tea in the harbour! I have been taken to the Empress 3 times and it was terrible - loud room, white coffee cups for tea, dry sandwiches/desserts. This place was perfect. Beautiful, quiet, pretty tea pots and cups, all of the food was fresh/moist and the scones were to die for! The server knew everything!

A very pleasant experience in such a charming environment. It was a unique opportunity to have seafood items like fish as an option for tea, but those who had it enjoyed it. Portions were plenty, tea was good, and we were guests of the adjacent hotel so received a discount as well. The one thing we did notice when paying the bill was a charge for PST. We mentioned it to our server and learned they were having an issue with their machine. The restaurant made sure to remove this charge from our bill, but we wondered how many other patrons were charged this tax and didn't notice. Other than this, a very lovely afternoon.

I hope this is taken as constructive feedback to the company so that future customers leave with no sour ending like myself. I am currently very put off from ever wanting to visit again or recommending Pendray Tea House to others due to my experience. Everything was lovely until the end. I had the afternoon tea thinking it was the Dine Around Afternoon Tea, but it was not. Please present your Dine Around Special better. It was never mentioned, highlighted or seen. It seems purposely hidden to cause misunderstanding. I should not have to study your menu inside and out, this is suppose to be a pleasant and relaxing experience, not an exam. I am also very confused. It seems so counterintuitive to offer your regular afternoon tea as well as a dine around afternoon tea. Isn't that the point of this dine around event, to try what you regularly offer but at a discounted price. I am so curious how the two differ. It leaves me questioning is the dine around option even a deal? Is there any incentive? Is there no tea or maybe a few less items? Based on the reaction of my server at the end, I assume this misunderstanding has happened before and will continue to happen. I feel so sorry for everyone, servers and future customers because this will happen again, and again, and again. If you would like to improve your customers experience and retain customers, I highly recommend you revisit your current method of communicating to your customers about the dine around special. For those wanting to visit, again everything was pleasant, just emphasize to your server, "I want the Dine Around Afternoon Tea please"
