Truly sad with the lunch experience at the Pearl. Did not feel welcomed and more of an inconvenience. I was hoping to treat a friend to this new staple in Tampa, but instead leaving not wanting to go back again. It starts with the host and I tried to ignore that first impression. I am mindful that we all have different personalities and can be having bad days … but with observation one can see when you are being treated differently than other customers that arrive after you. It is sad when nice people are treated with rudeness and rude people are treated with the red carpet. I want to end this review with a big positive and shoutout to the amazing individuals in the BOH. You will keep this establishment going because of your quality and attention to detail. The grilled cheese was what truly made me smile during this experience.

We were underwhelmed for a place that is presented with such high regard and good reviews. The good: the service was fantastic, the ambiance was wonderful and the drinks were good (old fashioned, dirty martini, bourbon bacon). The appetizers were also good (Devils On Horseback which are bacon wrapped prunes and Thai Mussels), but at least 4 of the 12 mussels were the size of peas. The dinners we all had were bland and disappointing. Two of the four had the fresh catch which was snapper and another had the hanger steak. We both left at least half of the snapper. It was a bit fishy tasting but just had no seasoning/flavor. The same with the hanger steak, no seasoning and was bland. We're not sure how the hanger steak had such good reviews. Overall for the prices paid for the entree's it was a bummer. We're seeing this in a lot of these high-end restaurants these days however. They spend a fortune to build out a beautiful restaurant and forget that it's the food that keeps people coming back. If I recommend The Pearl to anyone I will tell them to just get drinks and apps at the bar and eat their entrees elsewhere!

Beautiful but even when I said was for a cozy dinner and an adult birthday we were placed next to the bar where was very noisy and full of standing people while the other very nice tables were empty

We were seated in a more private dining area since the noise level in the bar was very loud. Our server was fantastic and the food was awesome! We were very happy!

Top notch service, it is obvious that great care is put in to making your dining experience special. Darren noticed we were new faces, Sheila and I, and came over to introduce himself. We will definitely be returning and I highly recommend that you check them out as well. The food is incredible, cooked to perfection, and very thoughtful put together. All the way around it's a dining experience the most selective food connoisseur will enjoy.

The food as usual was excellent. Unfortunately, our server seemed to be a little overwhelmed and was very slow. Other than that, I strongly recommend this restaurant.
