    We went there on a Sunday evening. Starters were ok, although the arancini were dry inside and definitely needed the bed of sweet chilli sauce (!) underneath. The mains were horrible. My husband had the grilled aubergine with couscous. It was literally half a grilled aubergine with plain couscous and a boiled broccoli stem. Embarrassing that a restaurant at a luxury hotel would serve something like this. My pork loin medallions dish was pretty sad, had 3 pieces of potato on the side and some sad looking cabbage underneath. I shared my gravy with my husband so his meal would taste better. The table next to ours was doing the same! The desserts were average. My lemon tart was probably from a supermarket. Overall, a very disappointing and expensive experience.

    we were dining on Sunday evening. Dinner was tasteless and simply not worth the money. the English wines on the menu we wanted were not available, so they should not be listed. Service staff was uninterested. The breakfast the next morning was also tasteless and uninspiring. such a shame!! Broome Park hotel of which Peacock is part is a wonderful location and deserves a much better kitchen.

    For an afternoon tea it was lovely, the restaurant it self looked like it needed a few cosmetic touch ups but lets face it you go to places for the food not looks, overall the food was brilliant although the cakes tasted shop bought not home made and the sandwiches you had two fillings, over three different sandwiches which was a shame it wasn’t three different fillings but still very tasty. The scones were on point could done with a little bit more cream but that’s a personal choice. Service was brilliant friendly, polite and professional staff. I would definitely recommend and would revisit.

    Excellent food, best I have had at an hotel. I’m gluten intolerant and they catered for my needs with no fuss

    Went here for a Valentines evening meal - we’d usually think about an Italian restaurant for special occasions, but we’d had a few birthdays recently where we did that, and wanted to change it up a bit, so chose to visit the Peacock. I am so glad we did! Really wonderful food, well balanced flavours and plenty of choice even from the set Valentines menu (2 great vegan choices that I struggled to choose between, and I am a fussy vegetarian). Will definitely return!

    Menu choice was limited. Whitebait was quite tasty but the Coq au vin was very disappointing. Dining room was cold - I was shivering.

    The restaurant was a bit cold, it wasn’t very busy either. My husband had the Xmas dinner which he said was average & the roast potatoes were burnt on the outside. I had the seabass, it was tasty but overcooked & a bit dry! The service was a little slow. We waited 30 mins plus for the food to arrive . Overall rating fair - good

    We were a party of four dining less than a week before Christmas, & very much looking forward to a Christmas meal at Broome Park. I had imagined it would be full of Christmas atmosphere, roaring log fires etc. Yes there was a magnificent in size Christmas tree in the main foyer, & a life size Christmas Solider by the fire (which was hardly 'roaring), but that was where the atmosphere and the Christmas decorations ended. No candles, or other Christmas themed decorations anywhere - not even Christmas Crackers on the tables for the guests - of which there were only two others. The food was pleasant enough - nothing truly amazing, but the restaurant lacked atmosphere. One small Christmas tree - no other decorations. The tables did not even have tablecloths, which was a shame, because they would have covered the somewhat shabby brown formica surface, which was chipped & damaged around the edges. The grey upholstered dining chairs were VERY badly stained - awful. No Christmas table decor or crackers on the table, no candles. Plain & very boring sliced cold white bread to accompany the meal. The Merlot was served very COLD - well the first glass was served, the waiter did not return to keep the glasses topped up or to attend at any other time during the meal, other than when the table was cleared. We were there 'celebrating' belatedly my friend's 70th birthday, & she & her husband had travelled from Suffolk to be with us, so we were hoping for a wonderful evening. To say I was embarrassed and disappointed would be an understatement - we would not return.
