Le thé représente l'une des traditions du Drake Hotel. Le Palm Court sert le thé depuis les fêtes de fin d'année de 1982 et a reçu des personnalités telles que la défunte Princesse Diana et Hilary Clinton. En 1958, la reine Élizabeth a également pris le thé au Drake. La beauté unique de la salle s'organise autour d'une magnifique fontaine en pierre calcaire, ornée d'une énorme urne de 275 ans en son centre, un bronze français de David Williams. Le thé de l'après-midi jouit d'une ambiance exceptionnelle grâce aux concerts de harpe que donnent des musiciens en tenue de soirée du mercredi au dimanche.

Afternoon Tea

For those who love their afternoon teas fresh and steeped in history, Palm Court at The Drake Hotel serving tea for nearly a century is the quintessential Magnificent Mile afternoon tea experience. Even the Queen and Princess Diana have made their visits here. Your afternoon tea begins with a peruse of the Palais de Thes menu, which features 13 tea blends. Tea is served in individual tea pots accompanied by three tiered tea tray filled with an arrangement of gourmet finger sandwiches; delicious breads and scones; and dainty petit fours with accoutrement. The Prince & Princess Afternoon tea service, suitable for children between 4 and 12 years of age. Reservations are heavily encouraged. Full tea service seating duration is 90 minutes max.

We booked this to celebrate two birthdays within our family on a Saturday afternoon. When we arrived we were sat promptly. Tea service was very good. There was a live Harpist that elevated the ambiance. The palm court was beautifully decorated as well, especially around the fountain. The matching china was nice. We especially liked the sugar cubes (not every place does this and it is a nice touch) and the raspberry preserves for the scones. Smoked Salmon sandwiches were a bit dry. Cookie butter was our favorite dessert on the tray. Service was attentive and we were allowed to get a refresh on each tier. We tried the following teas; Montagne Bleue, Garden of Dreams, and the Drake Blend. Each was very flavorful and to our liking. We liked it so much we ended up taking it home with us, and purchased a tin of the Montagne blue! It was a lovely none- rushed afternoon. We will definitely be back!

I booked this on the spur of the moment after arriving at The Drake on Sunday afternoon. High tea is always a treat and tea at The Palm Court was no exception. Jarvier’s service was exceptional as were the raspberry jam and the harpist; as for the remainder of the tea treats, sandwiches, and sweets, while good, they were not noteworthy. The ambience, however, made for a delightful and relaxing afternoon!

I took my stepson for his 17th birthday and the Palm Court was phenomenal. The service was impeccable. They were all so attentive. The food was delicious and we were able to get more of the sandwiches we liked. The tea was so flavorful. The ambiance was out of this world. I would absolutely go back to the Palm Court for any occasion.

The ambiance and experience was top notch! It is a pricey ticket for tea service, but we enjoyed all the food. The service was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

The only problem is there is stairs you have to go up to get to the palm which was not ideal when having a stroller. I had to carry the stroller up stairs in a dress.

Celebrating my daughter in law to be engagement with her family. Had a wonderful experience. Saed provided excellent service - Even suggested taking several photos for us which was very welcome . Enjoyable , non rushed afternoon- couldn’t have been nicer !

Brought out of town guests and our server Saed was lovely. I only wish people dressed better for the the tea service. Should be a dress code.
