Le thé représente l'une des traditions du Drake Hotel. Le Palm Court sert le thé depuis les fêtes de fin d'année de 1982 et a reçu des personnalités telles que la défunte Princesse Diana et Hilary Clinton. En 1958, la reine Élizabeth a également pris le thé au Drake. La beauté unique de la salle s'organise autour d'une magnifique fontaine en pierre calcaire, ornée d'une énorme urne de 275 ans en son centre, un bronze français de David Williams. Le thé de l'après-midi jouit d'une ambiance exceptionnelle grâce aux concerts de harpe que donnent des musiciens en tenue de soirée du mercredi au dimanche.

Palm Court Holiday Tea

Holiday tea in Palm Court is a Real Chicago tradition for generations of families during the holiday season. A seating in Palm Court places you near the iconic fountain adorned with holiday flora and overlooking the lobby Christmas tree and gingerbread display, guests will sip quintessential tea while reveling in the spirit of the season. A live harpist will play for all seating times, with holiday carolers performing on select dates through Christmas. Reservations are heavily encouraged. Full tea service seating duration is 90 minutes max.
Afternoon Tea

For those who love their afternoon teas fresh and steeped in history, Palm Court at The Drake Hotel serving tea for nearly a century is the quintessential Magnificent Mile afternoon tea experience. Even the Queen and Princess Diana have made their visits here. Your afternoon tea begins with a peruse of the Palais de Thes menu, which features 15 tea blends. Tea is served in individual tea pots accompanied by three tiered tea tray filled with an arrangement of gourmet finger sandwiches; delicious breads and scones; and dainty petit fours with accoutrement. The Prince & Princess Afternoon tea service, suitable for children between 3 and 12 years of age. Reservations are heavily encouraged. Full tea service seating duration is 90 minutes max.
Club International Holiday Tea

Sip quintessential tea experiencing Real Chicago tradition at The Drake Hotel this Holiday Season. Adjacent to Palm Court, CLUB INTERNATIONAL evokes Real Chicago holiday tradition with a backdrop of rich color and copper hues, to ignite the spirit of the season overlooking the hustle & bustle of Michigan Avenue. A live harpist will play for all seating times, with holiday carolers performing on select dates through Christmas.

Very disappointed in the entire tea service. For 2 people, we had 1 Bellini each and the high tea service and our total was over $200. While I normally wouldn't care about the price, the service and quality of the experience did not match the bill. In terms of the food, the quality was quite poor. The scones were small and dry, the sandwiches were mostly just bread with little on them, and one of the desserts was burnt and inedible. The environment was chaotic and not what you'd expect from a higher end experience. The tables were crammed together, the chairs were uncomfortable and looked like something you'd rent for an event, and it was incredibly warm. For the service, each patron is only provided one plate, and all tiers of the service were served at once, so there was no room on the table. For the price point, this was not worth it. I would not recommend this venue, and suggest The Drake focus on the customer experience more.

First time here for tea time. The ambience definitely amazing and beautiful for Christmas. Such a peaceful experience.

Poor service. Especially for paying $79 per person. Have been there several times and this felt like it is too expensive for the experience.

We love coming during the holidays for our annual tea time. It’s extra special now having our daughter join us. This visit was not as outstanding as previous visits; but it doesn’t mean we won’t come back. Tea time at the Drake is special, memorable, and worth the splurge!

The ambience was beautiful, but the service was surprisingly poor and nothing like we’ve experienced in the past when we’ve come for afternoon tea. Christine seemed particularly put out by any question we asked or request we made. A whole group of staff said good bye and happy new year to us while she stayed silent. We were a party of six and all commented on her unpleasant demeanor. I know from past experience that the staff is wonderfully spirited and eager to help. Christine was not.

Wonderful server. This was our second year for high tea at Christmas time. Highly recommend the Drake, great experience!

Holiday tea at the Palm Court in the Drake Hotel is a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is beautiful. They do accommodate gluten free requests. However, the gluten free scones and bread were exceptionally dry. The tea was great.

We absolutely enjoy our experiences at holiday tea! The service always exceeds our expectations, and the ambiance creates such a warm and inviting atmosphere. It’s truly a delightful way to celebrate the season!
