At age the of 20, Chef Rafael moved with his wife to Cleveland, Ohio. His goal was to continue his Italian culinary skills which he acquired in the region of Verona, Italy.
Chef Rafael was introduced to the restaurant industry at a very young age. His grandmother was very well known for her home-cooked dishes. She loved having her grandson with her as she cooked meals as soon as he was able to walk. He was six years old when he first learned how to make homemade pasta and, by age 14, he was ready to embark on his own culinary journey. His first stop was Verona, Italy,which was the setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. The romantic and rich architectural heritage of Verona was matched by the great culinary venues of that city and Chef Rafael's experience and skills grew exponentially. Three years later, Chef Rafael traveled to Belgium and France where he then experienced cooking French cuisine as well.

                                                                                            We had another great experience at the Palazzo for Valentine’s Day. Their seafood pasta special with lobster was outstanding. The calamari appetizer is a can’t miss. The service here is always efficient and friendly. Overall our favorite Italian restaurant in Cleveland.

                                                                                            It was Valentine’s Day and packed. Of course given the night Our waiter was definitely taxed but despite that we had an amazing experience and meal. The food was outstanding. It was our first time and. Definitely will be back. Joejo rocks!

                                                                                            Dined on the patio on Valentine’s Day. Food and service were outstanding as usual. It was a cold evening, and when I made the reservation, I questioned if it would be warm enough. The manager assured me they had good heaters and would be able to maintain a decent temperature. That was not quite the case. Perhaps, if it had not been windy, it would have been OK.

                                                                                            We've enjoyed dining at Palazzo every time we eat here. Very warm, welcoming professional staff and owner / chef Rafael. We love the ambience in this dinning room. Very relaxed, never rushed and quiet enough for conversation in a normal "inside voice" level. The food is never short of terrific. At our table last night, people raved about the salmon special, a steak special and the sacchitti. Whether you prefer beef, pasta, seafood or salads, you will only get a very well prepared and delicious meal. Location is a little hidden but it is a very convenient location and well worth the trip.

                                                                                            This is our 7 or 8th time at Palazzo, and they NEVER disappoint. From the service to the food, as well as the ambiance, it’s always top notch. We will definitely be back.

                                                                                            5 star dining experience! Went on a Tuesday evening and we practically had the whole place to ourselves so the service was great. Staff is friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was relaxed with good music playing. Most importantly the food was nothing short of amazing! They do need to update their website to match the current menu though. For drinks I recommend the Smoked Manhattan, it was fantastic. The crusty Italian bread and dipping oil was good. We had the Cavatellli and Chicken Marsala both were amazing. The neighborhood is less than desirable, but they have off street parking available so don't let that stop you from going there. I highly recommend this place!
