To keep you on your toes our head chef changes our evening menu regularly depending on what comes in fresh that day. Everything we offer is homemade and we source as much of the produce as we can as locally as possible. We always make sure there is a choice on the menu for Vegetarians, and we ask that when booking you let us know of any dietary requirements so we can tailor that evening’s menu appropriately.

The last time we visited, things were not the best, except the food which was beautiful. This time the food was excellent, no complaints whatsoever. The service from going into the Pack Horse to walking out was polite courteous and very attentive. The table was clean, tidy and there was every attention to detail. The service was prompt and everything was hot and delicious. I knew last time was not the usual excellent standard of the Pack Horse and I was right. Looking forward to our next visit and hopefully the Thai Nights will start again next year, they are very popular. Thank you for a wonderful night, good food and excellent ambience.

Fabulous dog friendly pub. We all had roast dinners, food was amazing and staff were really lovely! Wish we lived nearer!

We went on the Monday Thai Night by chance and it was amazing- two of us had a lot of experience with Thai food and they were bowled over by how authentic it was- and when we met the chef that was obvious!

When we arrived we had to wait quite a while to wait for the lady behind the bar to acknowledge us, she was busy chatting to her friends sitting at the bar. Finally she asked us if we had a booking, not in the most welcoming manner sadly. We sat down and ordered. The wine did not come for ages. The lovely waitress explained the lady at the bar was busy chatting to her friends. Eventually it arrived halfway through the starter of pink rubber on lettuce with mayonnaise. Next we had burnt battered fish and chips with dried out peas and an extra salad, my husband got the hair from the kitchen too. The table next to us had sent some of their food back to the “ chef” in the kitchen. I don’t think I would ever return and we felt sorry for the delightful waitresses serving the “ food”. Awful.

Nice village pub restaurant. Food was good but we thought it a bit overpriced.

We arrived early and sat with a drink in the bar waiting to be seated. Another couple arrived after us and they were immediately seated, they had booked the same time as us. We asked if our table would be ready soon and we were quickly directed to a table. As we had already viewed the menu we placed our order. There was only one person waiting on, or at least that was the impression we got. The food was lovely, however the water we were given was warm, everyone else had ice added to theirs. We then ordered a sweet and we had to wait for over 15 minutes and when it arrived it was cold. We were very disappointed with the whole experience. This isn't the first time having a meal here, in fact this is our third time visiting the Pack Horse for their Thai night this year. We will go back for another meal before the Thai nights stop for the winter, but it is safe to say this was by far the worse service we have experienced and it wasn't the young girl's fault as she tried to keep up. However there is only so much one person can do and taking orders, serving drinks, serving food, clearing tables is a bit too much for one person.

The Pack Horse is a beautiful building outside and Inn. Beautifully decorated. Unfortunately it wasn’t suitable for my needs. I was in my wheelchair which I had to get out to get in the front door. When inside my chair could not go through interior door so again I had to get out and be helped by a lovely member of staff whist my husband folded up my wheelchair. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was light and spacious. We had a long wait for our food which was surprising as there wasn’t many people in at that time. The waitress apologised for the long wait which made me think they had missed our order. I did ask on leaving if there was an easier way out. We went out through double doors at the back but that had a big step and a gravel path. I also rang repeatedly during the week to check booking but only answer phone and no one returned my calls. To sum up a beautiful building and setting ,friendly staff but unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair users
