Perched on the hillside offering panoramic views of The Cobb and Jurassic Coast, The Oyster & Fish House is arguably the most picturesque spot in Dorset to enjoy locally sourced fish and seafood. A large terrace wraps around the informal, light and airy dining room offering the perfect al fresco experience with unrivalled views of the coastline.

We support our local fishermen, so you may often see them bringing their catch up to the restaurant. In addition to a selection of snacks and starters, you can expect simply grilled fish on the bone, and of course, the delicious Dorset oysters and shellfish we have on our doorstep. The menu can change twice a day depending on what the fishermen bring to us. Please note we do not serve meat dishes, but we do have vegetarian, vegan and kids menus available.

Large tables are welcomed, and for bookings of 16 or more (including book outs) we ask for you to choose one of our seasonal feasts - designed to share.

For large parties or exclusive hire we offer feast menus which are designed to share. Choose our menus online or we can bespoke one just for you based on what is in season. We offer 3 sharing starters which are placed along the middle of the table, a sharing style main such mixed fish and seafood or surf and turf, and a large sharing-style pudding.

We welcome large parties in the restaurant - the largest table we can offer is a table of 20 guests. We also offer exclusive hire of the restaurant for parties and weddings, as well as being licensed for the wedding ceremony to take place in the restaurant or on the deck with the magnificent views of the Jurassic Coast and Cobb Harbour.

Well cooked fish. However, London prices bring the overall rating down to three stars only.

The website over inflats the quality of the building and clientele, it clearly smart casual , we felt so overdressed, two people had bikinis on, Most people maybe didn't understand what smart casual means. It's a quaint you could say shack which we were not expecting and a tight squeeze with tables. I drove approx 10 hour round trip which was not time well spent

This was a special birthday treat which is why we'd travelled down down from near Bath, and the restaurant didn't disappoint. The food was very good, well-cooked and presented, but our lasting memory is of the outstanding professionalism of the staff. The maitre d' arranged for us to sit at a window table once one was free after we'd expressed our disappointment at being seated in the centre. And later my wife was surprised with a plate with Happy Birthday scrawled in chocolate and 2 chocolate truffles which was a lovely touch. My only criticism would be that the only size glass of wine on offer were 175ml. A smaller 125ml would've been much appreciated. As we had no idea of the ABV of the Viognier my wife chose, it caused a very unwelcome hangover the following day after only 2 glasses!

Beautiful setting and food was excellent. We had a lovely evening and would definitely recommend. Amazing service too!

The food was very good, very generous portions. Everything was cooked to perfection. The Temperley Sour was spot on. The views across the harbour are always lovely and even though the restaurant was busy there was very little noise. It was a perfect evening

Another fantastic meal at my favourite restaurant. Excellent cocktails and delicious food. The view of Lyme Bay is amazing.
