Perched on the hillside offering panoramic views of The Cobb and Jurassic Coast, The Oyster & Fish House is arguably the most picturesque spot in Dorset to enjoy locally sourced fish and seafood. A large terrace wraps around the informal, light and airy dining room offering the perfect al fresco experience with unrivalled views of the coastline.

We support our local fishermen, so you may often see them bringing their catch up to the restaurant. In addition to a selection of snacks and starters, you can expect simply grilled fish on the bone, and of course, the delicious Dorset oysters and shellfish we have on our doorstep. The menu can change twice a day depending on what the fishermen bring to us. Please note we do not serve meat dishes, but we do have vegetarian, vegan and kids menus available.

Large tables are welcomed, and for bookings of 16 or more (including book outs) we ask for you to choose one of our seasonal feasts - designed to share.

For large parties or exclusive hire we offer feast menus which are designed to share. Choose our menus online or we can bespoke one just for you based on what is in season. We offer 3 sharing starters which are placed along the middle of the table, a sharing style main such mixed fish and seafood or surf and turf, and a large sharing-style pudding.

We welcome large parties in the restaurant - the largest table we can offer is a table of 20 guests. We also offer exclusive hire of the restaurant for parties and weddings, as well as being licensed for the wedding ceremony to take place in the restaurant or on the deck with the magnificent views of the Jurassic Coast and Cobb Harbour.

After a first visit that left us disappointed we thought we'd give the place a second chance. Bolstered by a new sample menu dated after out last visit we were hoping for more than the previous visits offerings. Up arrival it pretty much the same menu as last time and nothing like the sample menu. The menu, a tonic 6 months past it's best before date and a hair in a drinks glassleft us generally underwhelmed. The place neither lives up to Mark's name or the price tag.

Fabulous evening. First class food and very helpful, happy staff. Would highly recommend. Can’t wait for our next visit. Bell was our main waitress for the evening and she was just wonderful. So helpful towards our 12yr old son who was trying oysters and lobster for the first time and she even took him down to the kitchens to meet the chefs. What a wonderful place in every way.

Food OK.. overpriced for sure.... service good, aside from reception who refused our request to sit at another table for 2 (8 were vacant) meal spent at WORST table... then another couple were immediately reseated upon request. BEWARE the 12.5% service charge. In a word NOT FOR US... (trying to be polite - but really spoilt our anniversary)... Will never revisit even if they paid for the meal.

A delightful setting and fresh food cooked to a very high standard. Staff very friendly and accommodating. When less is more, the restaurant has achieved it. Well done.

Generally there wasn't a huge menu to choose from the chief that the restaurant is famous for is no longer there as he is too busy working in London which the waitress confirmed. It was wasn't good value for money 😕 We were quite prepared to pay what we did if it had been a great meal. Very disappointing as we had travelled from Spetisbury in Dorset

It was our 30th anniversary ,can’t think of a better way to spend it with such lovely food and views, . Definitely would come again ,such a relaxing evening,would definitely recommend it

Came here 10 years ago in the evening and didn't enjoy it. This time, came for lunch and a completely different experience. Service (and food) was outstanding. Vibe really quite Mediterranean and would definitely recommend as a lunch venue. We had lobster and the mixed fish which were wonderful. Think you miss a lot coming in the dark!
