The Ox Barn is a 56-seater destination restaurant under the direction of Head Chef, Charlie Hibbert. Rooted in a passion for the local land, food and entertaining, the carefully curated menus are farm-based and plant-inspired. His team and the gardeners at Thyme work together to select and grow the fruits, vegetables and herbs used to create his Modern British Countryside fare.

The nineteenth century former oxen house is the newest addition to the family of meticulously restored farm buildings. A state-of-the-art piece of agricultural architecture at its conception, Caryn Hibbert worked meticulously to preserve the soaring archways and original Cotswold stone rubble walls, to now house a modern, dining destination - including a contemporary bar and seven and a half metre Charvet open kitchen - to allow for an authentic, heritage-rich dining experience, enabled by today’s best culinary technologies.

                Hard to find. SatNav wrong? . Needs much clearer and larger signposts. Once on site, Ox barn building’s name was not visible. Beautiful location and ambience. V pleasant welcoming staff. We enjoyed the fresh ingredients and delicious puddings. Some flavours of fish dish perhaps a little too subtle.

                Service out front was the biggest let down. Plenty of staff but not a lot happening.. my first drink took about 20 minutes to come and then arrived in hand without a tray, unlike my partner’s drink which was brought on a tray way before. We were the only table sat inside and there were maybe 3 more at most outside, so hardly busy. There were no check backs on any of the courses, which were very tasty and cleanly presented. Last year we visited the same part of the UK and popped our heads into your venue, as we were just driving past.. we were wowed by the setup and design. You were also highly recommended on a number of forums we used for our research.. this is why the experience for us was so underwhelming.. very disappointing if not for the food and the actual venue itself.

                Amazing location. Pretty good service. Food was sadly 2 out of 5. Everything was very over seasoned and just tasted of salt. When booking asked for them to bring out a small cake and candles as it was my girlfriend's birthday - they didn't do this - which surprised me as i would have been more than happy to pay for this service. The restaurant only had 3 or 4 other covers as it was mid week, so no excuse really. However, maybe it was an administrative error. Even though the food was pretty poor, and they forgot the cake, the location is so amazing this made up for it (just). Would I go back? Probably but just for drinks with a group of friends or for a business meeting. Woudn't recommend the food - unless you like very salty dishes.

                The food was incredible, some of the best I've ever eaten. And the service was great. It is in such a beautiful location. Everything was perfect!

                Overall enjoyable, just expected better. Food on the whole was great (though lemon curd and rhubarb was stingy on the generous serve of pavlova). Service was hapahazard - food intolernaces werent checked despite being on the booking, spoons were delivered after the dessert was already on the table, and we waited about 30mins for a black americano at the end of the meal. Lovely setting but music needed to cope with the potential echo in the beautiful barn was often a bit loud for our group.
