The Optimist was an amazing experience all around! Came on a Sunday night with reservations and sat right away. Our server Charles was the best and so attentive & gave so many recommendations! Being from Cape Cod MA I was a little hesitant about the oysters & fish but they were so delicious. Ceviche was amazing!!! 10/10 will be returning!

The service was great, shoutout to him! However, the food was not worth the value in terms of quality and portions. I ordered the octopus, the serving was one finger length tentacle. Flavor was good, but value was off. My friend got the wood roasted oysters, the flavor was good. But there were pieces of shell in each oyster bite. She sent it back and they made a new plate, but still the same issue, shells in each one. For my entree I ordered the swordfish. My serving size was half the size of my friend’s swordfish order. Flavor was okay, fish was cooked well.

Wonderful chowder, scallops and halibut. Snafu with bringing out all appetizers at the same time but the manager was amazing, sorting out the problem immediately and comping us for all the appetizers - great customer service, very professional

The service, drinks, and food were outstanding!! It was our first time here and will definitely be back to The Optimist again.

Celebrated our 7th anniversary with The Optimist. It was a last minute reservation and we have no problem reserving a table to celebrate each other. We felt welcomed, Gabriel was amazing and made the night very special. Got a treat/dessert on him which he brought to our table in a copper mule with a heart origami and a happy anniversary message that I will forever cherish. Thank you so much!
