   Service was brilliant really helpful friendly team who couldn’t be more helpful. Food was excellent and everyone in our party enjoyed every element of their meal. Very impressed with our evening meal that we booked for Sunday roast the next day which was equally as delicious. Can highly recommend The Old Siege House.

   I'm "sorry" to give them just a solid 4, because this place has all the potential to be exceptional or outstanding. First of all the food was excellent and probably this is a main aspect. Unfortunately I'm not used to find carpet in a restaurant but of course it's normal in Britain. Also I expected a tablecloth (not sure if the lack of it is normal or not); I don't find appropriate (or hygienic) to put napkin or cutlery directly on the table. The staff was apparently friendly and welcoming but they laughed when I didn't find my table after going to the toilet. This was embarassing. But actually I laughed with them. The bill was unexpectedly high. On the menu I read that 10% discretional service is applied to parties above 6 people, but I was just one and they applied it. Moreover the menu reads "sirloin or beef" and then "for beef there is a £3 surchage". I chose sirloin but they charged me the £3. I think it's not sufficiently clear. I asked an explanation but the manager (I guess) seemed quite annoyed by my request and also hurried so I payed and went away saying thanks. Anyway, it was my first Sunday Roast of my life and it was exceptional. Also the starter (French onion soup) was something unique. Also the wine was astonishing. For this I would choose it again and also recommend it.

   An excellent meal in a wonderful historical building. The service was brilliant, attentive and friendly. The menu had a good choice, enough to satisfy all in our party. Will definitely be visiting again in the near future.

   We was a group of 4, it was very welcoming, we had to wait for our friends so she offered to sit us in the seating/lounge area and offered a drink, when we ordered food, the service was also good and polite, recommendation’s were offered to us whilst reading the menu. Food arrived with reasonable speed, didn’t feel like we was waiting, we wanted to go there because of the history of the building and the food was a bonus and so are the staff

   Gluten free options brilliant overall, but I was excited to try the ‘variety of breads’ which was optional to be gluten free. I’m used to limited bread options, but it was a shame it was just all sliced white. Would appreciate maybe a few different options or rolls, as these could be easily frozen by restaurant for Coeliac customers.meal and service was excellent.

   Came last night for a meal - hadn’t been to the siege house in years. Starter was really good, I then had steak for main but it wasn’t the best unfortunately - plus presentation of the steak could have been better. The place does have a nice atmosphere and our waitress was really helpful and friendly.

    We had a lovely experience today at the Old ISiege,the food was really tasty,the service was quick and polite,the ambience and decore very nice.
