Dining at The Old Deanery is an immersive experience, and you move through the building as you dine. Arrive into the cosy welcome lounge for pre-dinner drinks; chat, get comfortable, and relax – there will be no classical piano and hushed tones in here! Move through to the bar where you can watch some of the chefs work before they invite you to take your first course. The main event takes place in the restaurant, but forget white tablecloths and stilted service; the food may be formal but the atmosphere is not. Finally, you can retire after dinner to a cosy chair and enjoy a coffee and petits fours. Stay the night and enjoy views of either the lovely garden, or striking Cathedral. Then wake to a home-made breakfast board of granola, yoghurt, continental bites, and cooked goodness: A breakfast with a difference and the best way to sign off your stay.

Tasting Menu £90 with a £40 per person pre-paid deposit to secure the booking. Cancellations can be made up to 48hr before the table. If cancelled within the 48hr period the deposit will be lost. Head Chef Adam Jackson's Signature Tasting Menu created with seasonal ingredients from local suppliers. Due to the intricacy of our Tasting Menu and our small kitchen team we will not be able to cater for vegan guests or lactose free diners. All other allergies can be catered for.

Michelin quality tasting menu in a perfect setting.... couldn't fault the menu at all...every course was unbelievably tasty. The Deanery is a lovely old building.... restaurant space possibly could do with a little more ambience....will go again

Really disappointed. Booked the wine tasting with dinner as a special occasion for my partner's birthday. I was contacted by restaurant in the morning of booking and asked if it was a special occasion. I explained it was so was bitterly disappointed that no reference or gesture was made to him over the course of evening. The chef met us before we entered restaurant and said he would come to see us at the end of meal. He didn't. As we left we saw him having a pint at the bar. I was embarrassed. When we sat down for dinner, we were told by waiter to expect a performance and that they do things differently. Seriously, there was nothing that made the evening feel different. I spent just under £500 pounds and am so disappointed. Grantley Hall is so much better value for money. For £500 pounds for 2 people - it was not worth it. The food was average at best. Please avoid.

Possibly the best eating experience of my life! The staff are outstanding, the taster menu was brilliant. Not kidding, this place is a gem!
