This was the find of the summer! A beautiful secret garden and covered eating area tucked away behind the pub. Beautiful decor, plush sofas to have a drink before seating, excellent menu (great Sunday lunch options), child and dog friendly. The chef/owner himself even greeted us on the way in! Absolutely recommend this lovely venue.

Food is amazing! The pub itself is so deceptive, you walk up to the front expecting a tiny little place but when you walk alone the back it’s like a tardis, the set is amazing, they also have sofas to chill out out. The kitchen was amazing and basically cooked what wasn’t necessarily on the menu but if they had it, they would cook it. Really impressive. They also have a cute little play area for kids. Second time we have visited and it won’t be the last.

It was one of the hottest days of the year, and inside the tipee was like a sauna which the pub cannot be blamed for, however it did make the whole experience unpleasant - fans would have been appreciated. The staff, although pleasant enough, were slow and not very knowledgeable or helpful. The food was amazing and i would return for that, however when i went to pay the bill i had to queue up and they put an automatic service charge on top, which although i know i could have asked to be removed, but with the heat, the queue to pay and the lack of customer service, i just wanted to leave. If they improved their customer service i would go back, but not before that.

Great meal. Staff were very friendly. I loved the tent. The kids enjoyed playing in the garden. And the food was very tasty!

Such a friendly and welcoming pub. Superb for kids, any age really, but in particular ours were 4 and below and loved it!!! The swings and slide and big open garden allowed the kids to burn off energy in before and after food. Food was delicious- Sunday roasts were epic. Definitely coming again.

We booked in after having a glass making workshop nearby - we arrived and the actual pub was empty it’s all party at the back! What a nice surprise, it was beautifully heaving and well designed with a big teepee and lots of patrons on a sunny day it was a welcome discovery. The staff were all a bit junior and inexperienced, perfectly polite but even with a table booked we spoke to two waiters, both of which said “let me find someone more experienced” which was a bit sluggish. The menu is nice although somewhat limited. I had the smoked pork rib roast and it was a very strange dish with limited meat. It was literally a rib. Stingy on the new potato roasties and the sides. Gravy was superb. My view is if you can be abundant with the sides on a roast, people start to see the value. It felt expensive as the cheap veggies were portioned small. A easy level up to get more reward. Staff are perfectly pleasant but it does feel a little chaotic. Beautiful setting and perfect English country garden vibes - they get sun in the garden. It felt like being in a wonderful bubble for the time we were there. It isn’t cheap, but I would say for the setting it’s worth it. The food isn’t poor, it’s really good but you need to think carefully about what you want to order - nothing jumps out at you. The beef went past and it looked superb. Maybe I ordered wrong. I did order wrong 🤣 Either way, I would recommend this place, and I think it’s building to be a very strong countryside pub contender. Well done.

I LOVE what the new owners have done with the Boot!! It is absolutely stunning (out the back! Not the actual inside pub / front bar itself- that’s all the same) but you walk around the back to the garden and it is EXCEPTIONAL! Beautiful! Little garden of paradise. Hence the name “Tobi’s SECRET Garden” I guess, as it’s a real hidden gem. The quality of food was fantastic. Will definitely be visiting again :)

The Boot has recently changed hands. The new marquee is very pretty and has a bar now. We were greeted promptly and shown to our table. Drinks came quickly and efficiently. There were two downfalls though - the food (which was delicious) took absolutely ages to come out. We were about the only table there, it wasn’t full, and we were a group of 8. Also the rest of the pub was not being used, which was strange, but perhaps it’s because it’s summer? It was odd for the front door to be locked. Also, the bonfire burning at the back of the plot kept smoking over us! We will be back, but I hope we can sit in the pub next time (which will be in winter), as we love the ambience in there.

Menu is very poor, the food was way to expensive for what it is and the service is slow. The place was empty, with such a poor quality of food and service we understand why. The space outside is very nice.
