The Oarsman is a contemporary Bistro and Pub on Spittal Street in Marlow.

For lunch and dinner, we serve bistro style, seasonal dishes from the open kitchen and small plates from the charcuterie and larder counter.

Seasonal dishes are created by award winning Head Chef Scott Smith. Under Scott's helm The Oarsman is rapidly achieving accolades and recently had won Newcomer of the Year 2023 by Top50Gastropubs by Estrella Damm.

We have created an extensive list of fine and rare wines, as well as a wide range of wines by the glass. It might appear a bit bonkers, but that’s half the fun, there are over 300 wines, more than 200 grape varieties from forty plus countries, the quandary is, if we don’t list them, you can’t try them – so let’s be a bit bonkers.

All are farmed sustainably, most organically a good deal biodynamically and much with minimal intervention.

We have a strong environmental ethos and support local suppliers where possible to serve the finest, seasonal produce.

Dave Wall, the maestro behind The Unruly Pig, embodies a unique fusion of British and Italian influences, earning him the affectionate moniker ‘Britalian.’ Dave’s culinary journey is marked by a stellar history of gourmet artistry, with notable stints at Bibendum, Gordon Ramsay’s Boxwood Café, Claridges, and Le Talbooth. We had chicken parfait to start with the budget was on was stale the pate chicken was really nice with the grapes many different maincourse we had chicken leg roast to say disappointing it was on the menu it did say chicken leg but the size of it could be much bigger and it was a bit dry with vegetables and the roast potato crispy potato was deafly different and quite nic my roast beef was actually cooked very well pink gin, vegetables potatoes are great Yorkshire pudding was quite light. Grey was nice. We shared a desert rhubarb Yorkshire Pavlova Pavlova was brilliant but the rhubarb was lacking and Flavin sweetness and black and amount as well. Could be just a error for us on that day. Things can go wrong, no one actually checked how our food or asked us the question hello how was everything at the table check to be honest which maybe they should've done all them I've known would consider going back one more time to see how it turns out to be, but you are paying the price

an interesting and varied menu, quick pleasant service,quite expensive and very poor management of noise level.

We went to the Oarsman for Saturday lunch, and thought the food and service were outstanding. Very good value for money. The restaurant is in the Michelin guide for a good reason. The pigs trotters for starters were superb and the bavette steak was amazing. Beautifully seasoned and very smokey. The wine was also a treat. I thought it very reasonably priced vs the other high end restaurants in Marlow.

A great destination for delicious food and wine selection. Slightly odd service and lacks personality. Beautifully decorated and in great location in Marlow.

Delicious Roast! Ducked in for a quick Sunday lunch before travelling elsewhere, the Roast Pork was Devine and the service was extremely prompt and friendly. Highly Recommended!

Starters were amazing though the mains were a little disappointing… Rosti served with cod was over cooked, and the Bavette steak had little to no flavour. Otherwise the staff, service, wine selection and starters were all very good!
