A stunning first visit to The Oaks! The Cheese Soufflé is phenomenal. We dined on a Wednesday night so took advantage of the 2 steaks offer - absolutely perfect steak with great accompaniments and wine included. Winner. Lovely staff, super friendly and a gorgeous venue too. We will be back next time we visit the South Coast for sure!

Had to send chicken back as under cooked . Disappointed good staff though and gave us a free glass of wine . But my partner had to basically have her meal whilst I waited for mine to come back cooked.

We very much enjoyed visiting The Oakes. We were able to enjoy a drink in in a comfortable seat in front of a wonderful log burner before moving over to the restaurant area for our meal. The food was excellent. The pork was the best I have ever eaten; moist and full of flavour. And I was very happy to follow up with a sticky toffee pudding. The whole setting was of a very high standard and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend.

Great food, but a little pricy, £9 for three little cab & sweetcorn balls is expensive, £100 for the two of us, no alcohol just coffee to finish

We arrived early and sat in the courtyard for a drink. No cushions on hard chairs. We weren't called to our table and when we went in, there was quite a gap between order and arrival. Two sausages on a pile of mash and gravy, though delicious, for £15, I deemed expensive. A main course of 6 pieces of gnocchi in a mushroom sauce, we deemed unacceptably small. The creme brulee was thick and solid. Not the delightful dinning experience we had been hoping for.
