The Oakfield is set in a stunning property at the heart of Chester Zoo, making this a truly unique contemporary British pub.

With pride and passion we’ll be serving freshly prepared locally sourced food and hand-picked beers, wines and spirits. The Oakfield has been lovingly restored and our new garden room offers incredible views of our award winning gardens.

So, whether you are enjoying a day at the zoo or want to pop in for lunch you’ll get a warm welcome from our team.*

From the moment we arrived we had great service and the food was lovely. Best fish and chips had for a while. Sat inside for food in the library then outside to watch the snow leopards and hear the other animals. Was a lovely evening looking forward to coming back.

From the moment we stepped into the Oakfield we were warmly welcomed and seated at a lovely table. All of the staff were kind and helpful, we had pre-ordered Afternoon Tea which was plentiful and most enjoyable. The real star of the show however is the Oakfield itself, we took our time looking at all the artwork and original old photos before we left. Can't wait to visit again. Thank you

Excellent service. Refillable drinks and sandwiches. Nice cakes. Accommodated children well with soft drinks. Some sandwiches had dried out bread, some brioche bun rolls were wet/soggy. Beef sandwiches had thick chewy beef. All sandwiches and rolls were tasty. Reasonable value, we were all v full at end.

We had the salted beef bagel it was delicious. The service was excellent as always.

Food was good, service was exceptional, but the room allocated ( to the left of the main entrance) was shabby with an odour. Have been in rooms ahead, to right (in the same week) and the conservatory many times all of which are so much better. As a treat for my neice, it was a real disappointment ..would have asked to be moved ( as did another family) but neice would have hated the fuss. Had been there on Tues of same week (as treat for nephew) totally different experience in the room to the right. Sadly not the treat I hoped for.
