The Oakfield is set in a stunning property at the heart of Chester Zoo, making this a truly unique contemporary British pub.

With pride and passion we’ll be serving freshly prepared locally sourced food and hand-picked beers, wines and spirits. The Oakfield has been lovingly restored and our new garden room offers incredible views of our award winning gardens.

sadly we had to move table this time as the cleaning product apparently is making the tables sticky - it was like a dance floor - gross they have now omitted to putting place mats on the tables - which is a shame when we used to go it feels like a treat - but this time it was a bit of a pub vibe - not much care taken which is a shame as the food is outstanding

This was a welcome stop during a busy zoo day. Food was excellent, service great and the restaurant was so lovely.

From the moment we arrived we had great service and the food was lovely. Best fish and chips had for a while. Sat inside for food in the library then outside to watch the snow leopards and hear the other animals. Was a lovely evening looking forward to coming back.

From the moment we stepped into the Oakfield we were warmly welcomed and seated at a lovely table. All of the staff were kind and helpful, we had pre-ordered Afternoon Tea which was plentiful and most enjoyable. The real star of the show however is the Oakfield itself, we took our time looking at all the artwork and original old photos before we left. Can't wait to visit again. Thank you

Excellent service. Refillable drinks and sandwiches. Nice cakes. Accommodated children well with soft drinks. Some sandwiches had dried out bread, some brioche bun rolls were wet/soggy. Beef sandwiches had thick chewy beef. All sandwiches and rolls were tasty. Reasonable value, we were all v full at end.
