With pride and passion we’ll be serving freshly prepared locally sourced food and hand-picked beers, wines and spirits. The Oakfield has been lovingly restored and our new garden room offers incredible views of our award winning gardens.

The Oakfield at Chester Zoo offers a great place to eat. Stuart, our server was excellent. He was polite, friendly, interactive and efficient. Our meals were delicious, I had roast hand Sunday lunch, my husband the Caesar salad. A couple of things let it down. The table felt sticky. When our ice cream desserts arrived there were no spoons. The server said she would bring some, they never arrived. Another server brought a coffee so we asked for spoons then. Ice cream in the heat starts to melt quite quickly. Overall the food was nicely presented and delicious. Stuart went above and beyond with the service that he provided.

Amazing food at an amazing place. Always love going to here. When we arrived the place was quite busy in which service was a little slow; however once seated the service was good. Both food and drink orders came out quick. Would highly recommend.

The food was excellent as always but the best thing is the people. The staff are lovely and welcoming and make the place a real relaxing break for a day out.

I booked a table for Sunday afternoon which was wise, when I checked in people were being turned away as the Oakfield was fully booked. The staff are absolutely lovely and the service is exceptional, nothing is too much trouble. I ordered the sausage, mash and greens followed by a sundae which were delicious. The Oakfield is a beautiful haven for a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the zoo.

If you're visiting Chester Zoo, I would HIGHLY recommend The Oakfield. We visited on Monday 22th July, and it was a wonderful experience. The Staff couldn't help you enough, and the Food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced! I would recommend The Oakfield to anyone. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

Rather bland Sunday roast meal which was well below what we would have expected from the Oakfield. Meals were warm rather than hot and potatoes overcooked. Pudding brownie was dry and vegan ice cream disappointing as portion was tiny. Why no option of real ice cream?
