A firm favourite and iconic Cambridge bistro that's passionate about quality food and impeccable but unfussy service. The menu offers classic British and European dishes, home-made using traditional recipes and quality ingredients, matched with an extensive, hand-curated wine list. Set in a Grade II listed building, the Bistro offers an elegant dining experience in the heart of Cambridge city. Inside, there is comfortable banquette seating, dark wood and exposed brickwork, with original paintings by Cambridge artist Nicholas Juett. Hidden from view is further seating in a delightful garden courtyard – perfect for dining in fair weather – with covers, blankets, lighting and heating just in case. In the daytime, it’s ideal for business lunches, meeting friends or even lunching on your own with a newspaper; in the evenings, customers flock for a romantic meals, dinner parties with friends and special occasions.

I like the Oak Bistro is a nice place to dine, Is the first time I’ve eaten there and it was wonderful experience, the whole place has a nice, warm atmosphere. The Set menu 2 courses £22 good value for money I must say.

Celebrated our anniversary and everything was perfect! Amazing food, service and ambiance. Beef Wellington was incredible.

Very welcoming relaxed atmosphere, well cooked classic food with decent sized portions. Very happy they could accommodate for my odd request I had for my partner, it was a lovely enjoyable evening. Thank you and would defiantly recommend this restaurant.

Outstanding personal attention from the staff due to my dietary issues, but I saw they are that attentive to all their guests. The outside covered dining area is one of the loveliest I have ever been in. The lunch was very tasty too.

A lovely place with nice lights and paintings on the wall. The food was amazing and the staff very attentive. We had tried to book several times before but was always fully booked. We can certainly see why. We will definitely be going again.

Perfect lunch, starting with melt-in-your-mouth scallops and potted crab, then halibut and fish cakes, washed down with a crisp pinot grigio, finished with a trio of sorbet. Everything very good, the service, presentation of the dishes, seasoning, all spot on. Nothing whatsoever to complain about.
