Why The North Coal? The concept was created by the feeling of being away from city life with family and friends. For us, that’s Northern Ontario, but as lucky as we are to experience that way of life, not everyone is. Our mission is to provide that feeling regardless of your surroundings.

The restaurant has a nice easy setup. Love the fact it doesn't have 50 TV 's playing sports. Creates a more quaint atmosphere. Food was good as well as the service. And yes Brussels sprouts app was enjoyable even for one who isn't a big fan of them normally. Also the dusted wings were very good.

Nice restaurant in downtown Burlington. Steak was great, enjoyed the patio.

Get together with friends 4 of us enjoyed our dinner 2 had the cod special which was very good 2 had steak frites - the one steak was a bit tough Brussels were excellent We love this place and we will be back soon

The food was very good and service was great The only problem we had was the prices on the menu didn’t reflect with the prices online menu Especially the wine menu a difference of 9 dollars for what we had I think they need to update their web page

Excellent service, food. We were the only ones in the restaurant for the last hour, and they did not press us or make us feel uncomfortable to leave. Best night out with the girls I’ve had in a long time

Great staff. Drinks were yummy we had rose sangria. Salad was excellent North Coal salad. Salmon over cooked but second time around it was perfect thanks. Nice atmosphere and great location downtown.

Service was pretty poor. Seemed as though the kitchen and wait staff were overwhelmed. Took over 30 min to have our drink ordered take, took another 45 minutes for food which came out very poor in quality. All our tables orders came out wrong. Ordered a steak bowl medium and it came out completely over cooked and with only 5 tiny pieces of steak. Waitress confirmed no manager was on duty and that the staff was all tired from the previous rush. Ended up having our meal taken off our bill, since we didn’t eat it. We’ve had better meals and service here before.
