The award-winning New London restaurant has been on Chelmsford’s dining and social scene since October 2013 and it still is a relaxed yet sophisticated dining venue. The venue is full of elegance and glamour – now more than ever after an incredible redesign in March 2018.

We have a reputation for seasonally inspired menus with a unique approach to homemade food which makes the New London restaurant a special place to visit.

We pride ourselves on our excellent service with a personal touch. All our staff are proud of, and knowledgeable about, our dishes, wines and cocktails.

We offer only the best locally sourced and seasonal British produce including fresh seafood, locally sourced ingredients and foraged herbs. All our dishes are served in the inimitable style that has helped it garner so many compliments and awards since opening.

Have visited numerous times for Sunday lunch and as always this restaurant does not disappoint. The roast is exceptional! Great service as always and value for money.

The new menu was full of great choices with brilliant ingredients and flavours. There was still a good buzz around the restaurant even though England had been playing in the Euros so less people were out and about! Service was perfect with us receiving the right amount of attention and smiles This is still, by far, the best restaurant in Chelmsford to get extremely high quality food and wines in a sophisticated friendly atmosphere would highly recommend

The food was good but £12 extra for a steak was excessive. We were advised we had the table until 2.30 but the bottomless drink stopped at 2pm. It was not value for money I am afraid

This restaurant is by far the best in Chelmsford. All four of us had the most amazing food. We all had something different so we could have a little taste of different meals. Each one was perfect. Beautifully presented by our lovely waiter Andy. We were looked after from the moment we got there until we left. Highly recommend this fab restaurant. We have visited we different friends on many occasions and every one of them have had a wonderful time. Thank you to Justin , Andy and your fantastic team. You did us proud as always.

The New London is the best restaurant in Chelmsford for a fine dining experience. Every dish is executed to perfection and bursting with flavour. It never gets boring as the menu changes every 8 weeks too. The staff are always attentive. A firm favourite for us

We were initially disappointed that we were only offered a limited menu, we’d not been told the menu would be so restrictive when we booked. However, we were totally delighted with both the food and the service which was excellent in all regards. As a horse racing fan I kept telling my husband that the chap who looked after us looked just like Franny Norton. If you know the chap with the short cropped white hair then look it up. All in all we had a lovely meal to celebrate our 37th Wedding Anniversary and we’d certainly recommend The New London. Indeed, we are planning to return during the summer so as to enjoy the full menu. Lovely staff, good atmosphere, great service without being overbearing, just right. We felt at ease in The New London, a great compliment to the ambiance, the staff and the overall feel

Food and service excellent. Meal was not great value for money but too bad. Biggest issue was clientele i dont think that its acceptable to turn up for dinner in shorts unless you are informal dinning on holiday etc

Great meal for me and my wife on a Saturday evening. Chateaubriand and a bottle of Malbec were excellent. This is a great restaurant. Staff are very friendly and the chef is amazing.
