Really lovely food and generous sized portions. The children's roast was a really good size. The staff were really friendly. There appeared to only be two members of staff working the tables, although they were busy they still took their time when with our table and didn't rush us, which was appreciated. Look forward to returning again.

Great helpful friendly barman. Pool, darts etc good for kids. Accomodating for dogs. Food disappointing and sweary customers (fine in a pub setting just would avoid with kids). Would go again for a drink but not food.

This was our second visit in three weeks to the restaurant and we were not disappointed. The service and food was extremely good. Our party of four chose from the wet evening menu which offered a wide range of dishes. Our starters were the king prawns followed by a range of main courses from steak and chicken to frittatas, all of which were served promptly. Our waitress was friendly and very professional and offered the finishing touch to an excellent evening.

Haven’t visited the Chimneys for food for some time. Food was really good and the portions were big. Good selection on the menu. We did have to wait a few minutes when we first arrived, even though we had booked. They had to get the table ready. However it wasn’t a problem and the table service was excellent.

Sat at top to eat, no atmosphere, felt isolated restaurant area where we booked to eat. Told we had 5 mins to order didn’t know we were on a limited time. Band was great, if aware would not booked restaurant meal just come for pub meal / drinks and entertainment.

Hi. Thank you for your reply. The reason our upstairs restaurant was in use was due to being fully booked downstairs with 2 large parties, with mobility issues so couldn't use the stairs. The back of the restaurant was booked out for an engagement party. I am sorry you felt isolated but in total we had 10+ tables up there throughout the evening. I am slightly confused by the 5 mins to order comment, as our staff members have never told anyone that so i would really like some collaboration on this and who your server was so i can follow this up? I really do love Chimneys, been going for years with my family but ever since it got taken over there seems to be a lack of staff, we were waiting quite a while for our food but it no way was the lady who was serving us at fault, she was tending between 5 tables and was running about everywhere. Also the food was nice but very small portions. Otherwise a very nice evening.

I'm sorry you had a wait for your meal, on that particular night we did have an issue with one of our waiting team (which ended up with her being sent home for personal reasons) which left only 2 team members on, we'd usually have 3 team members working on a Fri & Sat night. Please accept our apologies New Chimneys

Had not been to chimneys for years as the food was so bad, thought we would try again as under newer management, wish I hadn’t bothered food is still terrible, not fresh food, tasteless aswell, was put off by the fact the chef was eating while plating up dinners - we could see the serving area from our table. The vegetables on the menu with the roast dinner are not what you get on the plate, it says creamed leeks but we didn’t get them on the plate and neither did the table next to us. When we questioned this the waitress replied they are an extra £2.95!

The pub was quiet when we visited which was great, plenty of space and not too noisy. The food was ordered and served in good time. One of the starters, mushrooms on sour dough was only warm but not enough of an issue to send back, the other starter, the soup was steaming! The main courses were good portion sizes and tasty, although 2 side orders were not put through to the kitchen for some reason so we went without rather than wait.

We like to go there, the food is nice, the atmosphere is even better, but 3 pieces of onion rings as an add on doesn't seems to be a lot. Also there is not enough space around the pool table.
