The Nag's Head is a quintessential English pub in a village called Haughton Moss, near Tarporley in rural Cheshire. It has been re-mixed and re-imagined by the people behind the multi-award winning Altrincham Market; Mackie Mayor, Manchester and Picturedrome, Macclesfield.

The Nag's Head is a listed building that dates back to its origin as a Smithy in the 1740's, on the trade route connecting the ports of Liverpool and North Wales to the Potteries.

At The Nag's Head sister venues we have earned a reputation for high quality food, delivered in beautiful buildings, served informally. The point? - to make eating out with family, with friends, with kids with dogs accessible, rewarding and part of your 'everyday'.

Expect seasonal changes, kitchen co-labs with our sister venues, glamping, growing and outdoorsy stuff on our adjoining 4 acres in the not-too-distant future.

We're pretty rural! We're 20mins from Crewe Station by road. There are buses - the 70 comes nearbyish. We'd love to be closer to more sustainable options but we're a bit too off the beaten track...which is what what makes us nice too.

Amazing evening! Ticked every box, child friendly paired with cocktails and a menu packed with delish seasonal dishes. The garden is flush with gorgeous flowers and has loads of space for the kids to run around + bunnies galore! Staff were lovely and food was exceptional! We can’t wait to go back - defo worth a trip!!

A very pleasant place to eat in beautiful garden surroundings. The service was friendly, efficient and authoritative without being invasive. Overall a very enjoyable dining experiencde.

This is our favourite place for Sunday lunch. We were here at the weekend and decided to nip back for a mid week treat. Lovely to have a proper look around the gardens. We had the best burger and chips ever!!! Followed by raspberry pavlova. Love this place :)

Service was slow. We also had a kitchen utensil label found in the middle of Yorkshire pudding. Quite a large piece of paper that had been baked into the food, not ideal!

Nice pub with lovely garden. For £17 though, the burger was small and onions tasteless. The chips were advertised as triple cooked but were very underdone and not what I would expect from the menu. All in all, poor value for money

Great food and lovely location. Staff really friendly. A couple of mixups on the food orders but put it down to teething problems and they were dealt with really well. Can’t wait to come back.

The quality of food was excellent. We had asparagus with smoked bacon and a perfectly cooked egg on foccaccia. Just delicious. That was followed by a fish pie with perfectly cooked greens. The fish pie was very tasty. My husband wanted to try the rice pudding with saffron but he was too full fro pudding. So he plans to come back to try it.

It was a lovely sunny day so we sat outside. The staff were great and helped us swap tables when a sunnier one became available. Great menu with lots of choices, our toddler was very happy with the children's menu too. Friendly staff, delicious locally sourced food and a gorgeous pub. Couldn't ask for more!

The brunch offering is exciting and delicious. Smoked ricotta on sourdough toast with mushrooms and fried eggs was sublime. Great value from the bottomless brunch table, toast , Birchers banana bread. Enjoyed it all outside in the garden before it rained again!
