The Nag's Head is a quintessential English pub in a village called Haughton Moss, near Tarporley in rural Cheshire. It has been re-mixed and re-imagined by the people behind the multi-award winning Altrincham Market; Mackie Mayor, Manchester and Picturedrome, Macclesfield.

The Nag's Head is a listed building that dates back to its origin as a Smithy in the 1740's, on the trade route connecting the ports of Liverpool and North Wales to the Potteries.

At The Nag's Head sister venues we have earned a reputation for high quality food, delivered in beautiful buildings, served informally. The point? - to make eating out with family, with friends, with kids with dogs accessible, rewarding and part of your 'everyday'.

Expect seasonal changes, kitchen co-labs with our sister venues, glamping, growing and outdoorsy stuff on our adjoining 4 acres in the not-too-distant future.

3rd visit and I can honestly say that the food has always been excellent. The choice is varied and not overwhelming, with all dietary preferences catered for. Also love that most of their suppliers are local to them which I find important. No hesitation whatsoever in recommending.

Great service and food but about surprised at the charge for drinks. Alcohol free cocktail was charged as cocktail plus lemonade

We have been here a few times and the food is outstanding and well presented. We have been lucky with the weather - so able to sit in the garden. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. It is a definite must with its lovely English garden - so relaxing like being on holiday.

Delicious food and lovely country pub. Excellent choice of Veggie and Vegan options, most things locally sourced. No hesitation whatsoever in recommending.

We arrived early and the table wasn’t quite ready, which was quickly dealt with. Food was fabulous, place was busy and bustling, service was fantastic. Will be back again.

Lovely pub in a very location. Would have been 5 star but I feel the food is a little expensive. Especially the roast dinner. I feel the highish prices may limit the growth of this business. The future will tell I guess.

The most beautiful place to go for lunch simply stunning. Food was good and the service top class.

Great choice of dishes, love the drinks happy hour offer. Very pleasant atmosphere on in the outside dining area on a warm evening, lovely attentive staff

Amazing food as usual. I come pretty much every week and often at the weekend with my fam. Even my dog gets a look in with his own sausages :) The roast is a firm favourite with my fam and we all love the brunch too. This time I had the fresh pasta with homemade pesto and my friends had the lamb pie. Everyone agreed everything was outstanding, so fresh and tasty..lovely to have such perfectly cooked vegetables and local food. Desserts yum too. Can 100% recommend the gooseberry pavlova, the Bakewell tart and liquorice and blackcurrant pudding. Garden looks great, utterly bonkers and just wild enough.
