The Mussel & Steak Bar is dedicated to serving high quality, fresh and locally sourced seafood & steaks, with warm service and welcoming surroundings. Our restaurant is located at the bottom of Victoria Street in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town, just a few steps from the historic Royal Mile. While enjoying the best mussels, oysters and steaks that Scotland has to offer, you can catch a glimpse of Edinburgh Castle from our window.
Our menu features classic seafood and steak favourites with seasonal Scottish specialties: fresh oysters, kilo pots of steamed mussels, shellfish platters and delicious matured Scotch beef steaks. Sourced from the West to North coast of Scotland you can expect to find seafood specials of lobsters, crabs, langoustines and scallops.

Lovely staff and wine, surf and turf main great. Scallops starter lacked a little flavour but would go again

We were very disappointed. Service very poor. Server told us she was too busy to try and accommodate our requests ; asking for a slice of lemon for example. It was clear they wanted us in and out quickly. Will not return.

Somos una familia española que acudimos a cenar con recomendación previa de unos amigos y no salimos defraudados: muy buen ambiente, acceso a la hora de la reserva (recomendable hacerla siempre) y la comida muy buena: pedimos unos mejillones con salsa de.whisqui y bacon sencillamente deliciosos; mis hijos pidieron una carne , bastante cara pero exquisita. Para beber , cerveza y agua (el precoo del vino en Escocia tiene un nivel demasiado alto). Os lo recomiendo a cualquiera que visite la bonita ciudad de Edimburgo.

Nice food for fish and meat lovers. Mussels as an additional dish was a brilliant idea. Would recommend and would go back.

Fantastic food and even better service from ALL staff. Love this restaurant. Been at least three times and every time perfect. The seafood linguini is sensational. Can’t wait to return. If the champagne was cheaper we would have bought a bottle. £100 is too steep. Bring it down to something like £80 and you will sell more. Make it £75 and it will really shift.

The food was delicious. We had the sharing platter but thought it was a little on the pricey side. The staff were so attentive and friendly and we really enjoyed our evening and would go back
