Open to holiday makers, wedding guests and locals, the Murray Arms Hotel in Gatehouse of Fleet is an extension of Laggan, offering bed and breakfast, grazing boards between 1.00pm - 4.30pm and our supper menu from 5pm - 8.30pm.

We have undergone an extensive refurbishment, winning Hotel of the Year in 2023 for Best Design. Our new spaces include our bar area which is dog friendly and our new restaurant.

Limited menu, either burgers or meat/fish with chips. Overcooked haddock goujons. Only chips accompanied meat or fish. No vegetables in sight. Excessively long wait for dessert so didn’t bother to stay.

While the two course menu is limited the selection available covers a wide range of tastes. The service was a little slow due to the venue being busy. The staff recognised this and responded nicely.

We enjoyed a lovely meal at the newly refurbished Murray Arms - our first visit since all the work was completed. It’s an impressive renovation and very cohesive how the rooms now flow together. Seating was comfortable too! The food was really tasty - we enjoyed Cajun chicken, haddock goujons, and crispy duck - such a tasty hoison sauce!! If anything, the portions were on the large side - we found it difficult to finish and really don’t like to waste food but just couldn’t fit it all in. The staff were lovely - all young but smiley and polite throughout the service. We will definitely return

Very quick and helpful service. Food was fantastic and came quickly. The restaurant is in immaculate condition and is very well decorated. Staff were very helpful and attentive

You can’t help but be impressed by the Murray arms as soon as you walk in the door. The quality of the decor and finish is superb and helps create a wonderful atmosphere. The staff were very efficient and attentive, and the food was excellent. We had a great evening with friends and Already have a return visit planned.

The setting was absolutely lovely, staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs. A few communication issues with the order, however it was resolved. I feel in general the menu needs reviewing, as the options available were very limited. The choice being either something in a basket or a burger. The kids loved it, however the grandparents were looking for something more traditional, like a Steak or steak pie, or a gammon steak, or plain chicken with no spicy seasoning. Not sure if I would return unless the menu changes.
