    The server was just a little busy, and the manager noticed. He stepped in to supplement and made a couple of nice recommendations. Very customer service oriented.

    The 2 front Hostess’s was the worst I ever had. I had a reservation for 6:00. Asked to be seated outside and they seated 5 tables after us outside. I finally went and asked for the 3rd time and they then seated us outside. Absolutely ridiculous.

    Outstanding. I e been dining here for 20+ years. Always amazing. We had the oysters, RI style calamari, on seared lobster for 2 rose champagne and Flouless chocolate cake. What can I say. Our servers were local and awesome! We can’t wait to visit again soon

    We were fortunate to be seated outside, so the noise was not bad. If you sit inside, be prepared for quite a din. Deafening. The kale and radicchio salad and the beet and spinach salad were terrific. Also try the pan roasted cod and the pork chop. Both excellent. We tried the limoncello mascarpone cake. So so. Great martinis!

    We had the special of the day, Brazini, and it was delicious! The herbs inside the fish gave the fish a wonderful flavor! The fingerling roasted potatoes and garlic mashed potatoes were tssty too, The deserts, limoncello cake & white chocolate cheese cake & lemoncello cake was very good too’

    The Mooring is one of my favorite restaurants in Newport. when I want to be on the waterfront I have sticker shock from the 20% inflation of the past few years, so do not eat out as often, but the The Mooring is in my top five choices for Newport. This was a luncheon in mid September, so very quiet. The food was well prepared, as I expected. The reception was excellent. The table service was a little cool. Very competent, but not engaging or enlightening. Perfunctory might be the right word. Food is more important than service, but if you want a five, you have to provide both. I would rate the experience at 4.5. I will return. I recommend The Mooring over 41 North, which I think has gone downhill this year.

    we ordered the pork shop and it was underwhelming. it was lacking seasoning and the sweet potato side had very little flavor or creativity. it was a simple baked sweet potato cut and charred. We have eaten at this restaurant for years and this by far was the worst food experience here we have had unfortunately
