The meal was great! I felt a little apprehensive reading previous reviews. Order was taken at table and the wait was reasonable for a proper cooked meal. Food freshly cooked and delicious. Only negative was waiting time for drinks at the bar. Unfortunately, under staffed as many places are which meant 1 person serving which added to to the time waiting. Saying that it didn't mar our evening. Would and will return.

Kitchen was closed without warning and was still able to book a table without knowing kitchen was closed

We were booked for 5 people but ended up being 4. You had a Brazilian private party according to the sign but instead of concentrating on that & cancelling people who booked a table you did both- very poor decision. The dining room had the door to outside open so 2 of our party had coats on it was cold. We’d already moved from our table to one further from our allocated seats to be less in direct aim of the cold. The service was poor because management overstretched the staff. Despite this the staff tried their best in a bad situation. Suddenly every one in the garden & it was busy came into the restaurant. They were standing chatting right next to us & moved the tables to have their party indoors. The number of people now surrounding us made for an extremely loud environment & the staff couldn’t get through it was so rammed. Food- the chicken burgers were ok. The soup ordered as main came 1st . Luckily it was piping hot but would have been nice if they’d taken it back to keep warm when we pointed this out. We think you rushed the pie & mash as the pie appeared microwaved and very soggy. We hope this is not how it’s normally served. We left your pub as soon as we’d eaten mains. The waitress apologised but the people behind the bar didn’t say anything or ask about our evening. The noise was ballistic- we couldn’t hear each other & we meet up once a month to catch up. We will not be choosing your pub again.

Very disappointing this time. If a pub chooses to open for meals on a Monday lunchtime, it needs to be adequately staffed, which was certainly not the case on 20th May. There was one female staff member who was the bar person, taking food orders and waitressing the tables - the poor girl didn’t stand a chance. Needless to say table service was very poor, and certainly didn’t warrant the unpopular 10% service charge !! Also the Vietnamese “King Prawn Curry” was served with small shrimps !

Attractive decor, good atmosphere, friendly staff. Garden is also a nice place to sit. Food, however was underwhelming & unimaginative. Would recommend the pub for a friendly drink only

The Service Charge has thankfully been removed which was positive. The food was acceptable but not outstanding. It was very quiet so not much atmosphere. It used to be busy at lunchtimes but is much quieter these days. When the weather is more stable and there is a group of us we may return as garden is nice when eating outdoors,, but with only six people in the restaurant it was too lacking in atmosphere for us, although we welcomed that there was no intrusive ‘music’. The lady that served us was as friendly and attentive as usual.

Nice meal and pleasant feel to the place Just one comment I was not overly impressed with the service charge added especially when I had already spent £100 on the meal £10 on top of that was a surprise

A great evening with friends. Excellent food, lovely helpful and friendly people. We'll definitely be back.

Nice Sunday lunch but:- * No crackling available with the pork * No horseradish available to go with the beef * No “white” prosecco * charging £3.20 for a small half pint glass of Pepsi is a total rip-off!!
