Open Tuesday night to Sunday with food served all day from noon.
We now have 3 Giant heated Tipis, they provide lots of fresh air and a lovely open environment, they are also heated.

Formerly an 18th Century farmhouse boasting exposed beams, oak floors, exposed brickwork and oak tables. This leads to a very relaxed and cosy atmosphere with candle lit tables and real flame stoves.

The cuisine is typically modern European, classically cooked using cornerstones such as stock pots to create their sauces with a brigade that has a passion for what they do.

This is exciting times for the pub which now has a new bar serving real ale straight from the cask. Be sure to check out the website regularly to keep up with the latest events and offers.

Typically the music is designed to be background to start with the opportunity to get up and have a dance if you wish towards the end of the evening. The Music is typically Soul and Motown with certain acts focusing on artists, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Tina Turner etc. The Tipi Lounge is available for quieter dining.

Nestled in the charming countryside of Mereworth, The Moody Mare offers a delightful escape for a Sunday lunch. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the friendly staff who set the tone for a relaxed dining experience. The atmosphere was inviting, making it a perfect spot to unwind. We opted for the platter of roast meats, which was meant to feature beef, lamb, and gammon. Unfortunately, we were informed that the beef was unavailable, which was a bit disappointing. However, the turkey that replaced it was surprisingly tasty and complemented the other meats well. A standout feature of the meal was undoubtedly the roast potatoes—crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside—and the rich, flavourful gravy that tied everything together beautifully. Additionally, the decent selection of vegetables added a nice touch, offering a range of colours and flavours that enhanced the overall meal. The setting itself is lovely, with a relaxed vibe that encourages you to linger a little longer over your meal. The reasonably priced menu adds to its appeal, making it accessible for a casual Sunday outing. Overall, despite the minor hiccup with the beef, we enjoyed our lunch at The Moody Mare and would certainly return for another meal, hopefully with the full platter intact next time. It's a lovely spot for a leisurely Sunday lunch, and I would recommend it to anyone in the area looking for good food and friendly service.

First time eaten here for ages. Booked late as was rammed earlier in the day. Food didn’t disappoint- pre-booked x5 roast lambs and delicious! Lonely young lad serving us too. Will return.

Loved the Tipi had an excellent meal and good value At times service was abit slow and I think there was spam on the charcuterie board (it had no place being there!) Will definitely be going back mid week to sample more of the menu

Booked table in the tipee. Floor was very uneven and table was rocky. It was cold in there until we asked if there was another table and they put the heating on. Food was ok but wasn’t worth the money. The burger was very small and didn’t look nothing like the picture on their website. The service wasn’t great either. I been here and never had issues but I think it’s gone down hill and overpriced for the food you get.

First time visiting the Moody Mare, and i will certainly be returning, the food was amazing, good value for money, the staff was friendly and welcoming, i want to try the roast next time. would be good if the the menu for tapas for on the website, as i would like to try this but would like to know what you get. unless i am missing it somewhere. 100% Recommend this place.
