Open Tuesday night to Sunday with food served all day from noon.
We now have 3 Giant heated Tipis, they provide lots of fresh air and a lovely open environment, they are also heated.

Formerly an 18th Century farmhouse boasting exposed beams, oak floors, exposed brickwork and oak tables. This leads to a very relaxed and cosy atmosphere with candle lit tables and real flame stoves.

The cuisine is typically modern European, classically cooked using cornerstones such as stock pots to create their sauces with a brigade that has a passion for what they do.

This is exciting times for the pub which now has a new bar serving real ale straight from the cask. Be sure to check out the website regularly to keep up with the latest events and offers.

Typically the music is designed to be background to start with the opportunity to get up and have a dance if you wish towards the end of the evening. The Music is typically Soul and Motown with certain acts focusing on artists, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Tina Turner etc. The Tipi Lounge is available for quieter dining.

Yesterday (24 07 2024) was the second time I and my relation had been to the Moody Mare. Brilliant food, lovely service. Music noise just right not too loud. Don't bother with other pubs in Kent Use this one. Excellent doesn't describe it. If you want decent, well cooked and delicious meals go to the Moody Mare. It is not a gastro pub, they do not sell pub grub, it is first class dining.

Ordered the mixed roast of turkey beef and gammon. Asked them to replace the gammon for pork, however, they only gave me beef and pork. The roast was served in a bowl for some reason instead of a plate. The quality of the food was poor, meat and stuffing was dry and tough. Our second visit we will not be returning anytime soon.

The food was freshly cooked and tasty, didn't feel at all mass produced. On a Wednesday evening it was quite quiet, with only a few other diners. The waiting staff were polite and attentive. The starters and desserts were a little on the pricey side, but we enjoyed eating them, and they were a little different to the normal offerings you might see elsewhere. Overall a very positive experience and we would be happy to return on another date.

It was very good, staff were friendly, knowledgeable and polite. Perhaps more vegetables would be good especially when sharing them with three of the guests, but other than that we all enjoy it

We went to try the Sunday lunch out before booking for a 60th birthday and was very happy with it all.

The food that we had was lovely , very well presented and tasty and was piping hot . The let down was that we had to ask for a dessert menu as it wasn't offered , we then waited and waited and waited for someone to come over and ask if we would like to order desserts which didn't happen . We also didn't have anyone come over and ask if we would like to order anymore drinks or even a coffee so in the end we gave up and paid the bill and left very disappointing after such a good start and the meal was for my birthday .
