The Monarch Club is a place like no other. Passing through the Metropolitan Building’s spectacular Great Hall hints at the elegant charm that awaits. The Monarch Club exudes both old-school intrigue and modern comfort, draped in tones of deep blue, red and gold that create a luxurious backdrop for incomparable city views.     We had three small plates, the sliders, the margarita flatbread and lamb meatballs. All were delicious! The view is the best also. It’s exciting to have a place like this to go in Detroit.

    It is a beautiful place with no sustains. Just pretty that is all it had I was doing a pre-birthday celebration. The waitress took 10 mins just to take our order. Then waited 20 mins on the drinks to come. My boyfriend had to go to the bathroom and told me he saw our waitress just sitting on the phone. We stayed for an hour and just had one drink. It was a waste of time one hour for just two drinks. Never even came back to fill up our waters.

    The ambience is wonderful and the views are amazing. My critique is the service was very poor. I had to get up numerous times to ask for our drinks, for refills of our glasses of water, to pay our bill, etc. and the waitress seemed to act bothered whenever we asked for anything. And We are very low maintenance clientele and don’t ask for very much. Overall the place is beautiful, but the service wasn’t good.

    Beautiful place with beautiful views! Only thing that was unfortunate was that the kitchen was out of 3 things we wanted off of the menu (which was odd for a Friday night). The food menu is small to begin with so that made our options even fewer.

    We had a group of 12 for a birthday get together. Drinks were disappointing across the board. Too sweet, not strong enough, to sour, ect. Not to mention the price of these disappointing drinks…! We brought a tiny cake and were told it would be $60 for us to cut it there. They clearly don’t care about people, special occasions or the experience. Instead of being thankful to have a large group (they weren’t busy at all) celebrating and spending money at their establishment, we were made to feel as if we were a bother. Service was ok at best, but again, not even a smile or happy birthday shout out to the birthday girl. We ended up leaving after one drink and heading to Kampers Rooftop.. what a breath of fresh air, highly recommend! Do better Monarch Club.

    Our server was great as well as our drinks! Fries did not have any truffle on them and the margarita pizza was cold, soggy and full of tomato paste. No I did not say anything to the server because by the time we received to food we were starving. Plus it was so busy and there were only 2 servers outside. I also thought there was a dress code, you must have changed that since the last time we were there.
