North Scottsdale’s heart beats to a Latin drum at The Mission at Kierland Commons where renowned Chef Matt Carter (Zinc Bistro and Fat Ox) brings a modern twist to Latin cuisine blending influences from Spain, Mexico, Central America, and South America.

Sip a signature margarita with unique flavors such as cucumber jalepeno or aguacate (yes, we said avocado) as you watch your Tableside Guacamole made to your taste from more than a dozen fresh ingredients.

Home made tortillas, sauces, and salsas are made fresh daily to accompany an assortment of meats and seafood prepared on a Plancha or a grill using pecan and mesquite wood that instills a rich flavor. Plus save room for dessert including our pumpkin bread pudding or espresso churros.

Drove from LA to AZ and dying for authentic Mexican food! Food is beyond amazing! Can’t emphasize it enough, my partner was impressed at the hand made tortillas and guacamole being made in front of you with your preferred spice level. As a Mexican, I approve this spot. Maybe people are much friendlier in AZ, but the staff is extremely friendly. Todd, our waiter, was awesome too and gave us honest recommendations. Only complaint is, when it got busy, we were forgotten and had to flag a different staff to bring our check. I still rate this place 5 stars!

The Mission was once again a delight! The service team was excellent, the dishes were elegantly simple, delicious, and elevated, and I was even able to add a lovely zero proof cocktail into the mix. Parking is always busy in the Kierland area, so leave a few minutes to find a spot and leisurely walk to the restaurant if you do not want to valet.

Wasn’t impressed with the all you can eat tacos. The meat was very dry. Table side guacamole was amazing though and so were the drinks!

The street corn is fabulous. Lovely place with great service. We went for brunch but my husband said next time he’d prefer the dinner menu.

The bartender, Scott, was exceptional and made us cocktails that we enjoyed. After reviewing the cocktail menu we did not like, he suggested other cocktails for our palate. In the past, we have always had delicious cocktails here. Our server, Dani, was very friendly and offered good service. The shrimp starter tasted great but was a bit overcooked. The rice was quite good, but we found the porchetta on the rich and fatty side.

Curtis was very attentive and checked on items being Gluten Free for me. I didn’t catch th name of the man making guacamole. But he was very personable. I enjoyed the brightness of this location compared to Brown Rd.!

My wife and I love this place, and the food is always solid when we go there. The price is not cheap by any means for the food, but I believe the value is there. Our server last night was exceptional, Curtis went above and beyond with every request and adjustment we needed. The one critique I would suggest, when using open table to book the restaurant requires a $15 per person no show fee, they should in turn give you a $15 credit for not having your table ready when you arrive. We booked for 8 pm last night and had to wait 20 mins to be seated, when first approaching the reservation desk we were ask had we checked in??? there is no QR code or sign for check in??? The hostess (Both) very rude and seemed over whelmed with doing there job! Usually a simple we will get you seated as soon as we can, and thank you for your patience goes a long way!! Instead we got rude and no communication
