North Scottsdale’s heart beats to a Latin drum at The Mission at Kierland Commons where renowned Chef Matt Carter (Zinc Bistro and Fat Ox) brings a modern twist to Latin cuisine blending influences from Spain, Mexico, Central America, and South America.

Sip a signature margarita with unique flavors such as cucumber jalepeno or aguacate (yes, we said avocado) as you watch your Tableside Guacamole made to your taste from more than a dozen fresh ingredients.

Home made tortillas, sauces, and salsas are made fresh daily to accompany an assortment of meats and seafood prepared on a Plancha or a grill using pecan and mesquite wood that instills a rich flavor. Plus save room for dessert including our pumpkin bread pudding or espresso churros.

This was our first time dining at this restaurant. We had high hopes it would deliver but unfortunately the overall experience was not memorable. Upon arrive the young person looked up and didn't say anything welcoming. We gave her our name and indicated we had a reservation. She still never greeted us but handed us off to another person to seat us. So, our experience didn't start off good as you can tell. After being seated a second time because we didn't prefer our initial table the server came up to greet us and he was very nice and warm so we crossed our fingers and hoped things would improve. We order a few drinks and they where just okay, nothing to write home about. Our food arrived and it too was just okay. In fact the pork dish we got was on the sweet side and that wasn't what we expected. Anyways, I am sure most people will enjoy their dining experience here but when in Scottsdale the competition is extremely high and this place doesn't make the list for us. Enjoy

The noise level in the restaurant was like standing next to a roaring jet engine. The light level required that we use flashlights to read the menu. The food was mediocre at best. One of our party did no to tolerate spicy foods. But the server brought her the spiciest dish. The prices are too high for what we got.

Tacos are super hard to eat due to size of tortilla. Make them a little bigger cause they just aren’t really tacos right now imo. Service was great! Server was attentive and helpful! Nice that you have blankets cause it was freezing outside! Appreciate them for sure.

Environment was too loud - had to repeat sentences to be understood— our table was cramped in between neighboring tables. Server spoke to us from over my left shoulder - no room to stand at the middle of the table Otherwise, good

Love the ambiance, not happy with the fact you had to sit at Bar to take advantage of HH and they cannot split a tab based on separate individuals, they have to divide by %’s 50/50, 1/3, 1/3 1/3 and so on??

We had a great dinner on the second-floor balcony. Our waiter was attentive and the food was delicious.

Not a good experience at this restaurant. Service was extremely slow. Items ordered were not delivered. The music was so loud that you could not converse with your table mates. Why do restaurants feel like they have to blast the music so loud. people don't come for music they come for conversation with their friends. We were sat outside, the heater did not work. Our guacamole tasted like pure lime. Would never return. We didn't even order our entrées. We just decided to leave and go elsewhere.

We started with street corn appetizer and 2 margaritas. zVery delicious! For entrees i had short rib tacos and my husband had chorizo pork shoulder. Both were very flavorful. The tacos were a little small but for me being a light eater they were perfect! Out table was outside in a quiet corner with a nice view. Our server was attentive in just the right way! We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will be back!
