Classic Irish cuisine from chef Sean Smith in the Kildare countryside.

Sean’s mouth-watering new menu is as always sourced locally with some ingredients even grown on the very grounds of the Cliff at Lyons Estate. Food lovers will enjoy classics such as Roast Rib of Beef, Cherry Valley Duck Breast and Oven Baked Baby Turbot with sides of seasonal vegetables, mini Seafood platters and of course for something a bit sweet, Whiskey & Orange Ice Cream or Chocolate Fondant with Salted Caramel Ice Cream.

The Mill restaurant is the heart of Cliff at Lyons, with huge double-height ceilings, warm open fire and windows that open up to a terrace beside the mill race and waterfall. Here, you will find a relaxed style of dining where it is easy to enjoy a lunch or dinner with friends or family. The illuminated waterfall provides a unique back drop to this airy and spacious room.

We had both had starters and a main, my wife had a poached egg which was translucent I’d cook it better at home. I had the the oysters for a starter which are over priced.

Food was fantastic would give 5 overall but for main course mine was served my husband veg was served then to be told he would have to wait for the beef. When the beef arrived his veg was cold he had to ask the gentleman for hot veg he got some but wasn't very understanding of the problem. All other staff were amazing in particular a lady with red hair a coloured girl and a young French man they were all amazing

Lovely meal , great service , one bad starter a chicken terrine which was for me uneatable , the staff changed it for another starter which was top class overall we had a great meal in this restaurant a five star experience

Very attentive staff, from initial greeting & pre-dinner drinks, up to leaving restaurant after meal, service was excellent. Great choices on menu, food was of a very high standard, will definitely return.

Beautiful setting and lovely seat by the window with a view of the watermill. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Very friendly staff however service a little slow. The food was of a very high standard however there was a mix up with my husbands starter he received the chicken terrine instead of the fois gras and only realised midway. He was a little disappointed with the chicken terrine and found it too rich. However the main courses, cheeseboard and wine was excellent. Overall we had a lovely evening and really enjoyed cliff at lyons.
