Traditional 1700s pub with a bar menu of classic British and global food. The Three Houses is located in Sandal just a stones throw from Sandal Castle. Serving local produce - and those a bit further afield - we bring our take of modern bistro food into a vibrant and creative world. We serve seasonally inspired cuisine alongside Yorkshire favourites. If you like Yorkshire puddings then try our giant Yorkshire filled with a full Sunday lunch!!

The good bit -4 of us dined here and had main courses and wine, the chef is getting things right as the food was excellent, no complaints there. The down side - the service is terrible, servers all seemed very unhappy and unprofessional, not a welcome or a smile was had by any of them. They took empty plates away without asking how the food was and never offered a dessert menu or more drinks to the table. We were going to tip for the chef only really, but they even got this part wrong, splitting the bill incorrectly!! It's a real shame that the service badly lets this place down and unless we hear that it's improved won't be returning, which is sad as it's on our doorstep. Response after reply from The Three Houses: being new to serving customers is no excuse, your staff should be trained and ready to open and serve customers correctly, simple courtesy is not rocket science. A grace period is fine but customers are using their hard earned money and giving you a chance to impress, and this wasn't our experience. we are not difficult customers and fully get how hard hospitality is, but you serving staff have not been trained or been employed with the skills in place to do you justice.

Hi Karen, Glad you enjoyed the food. Please remeber this is our 5th day of serving food. We will improve for sure but ask just for a little grace period to settle in. It was so nice to be back in our local pub. It was clean and welcoming. Excellent service and quality drinks and good. Well done

I visited the Three Houses on the kitchen opening night and yesterday. Both times, trying the real ale and the food. On both occasions, the food and drink have been excellent. Particularly when we dined in the restaurant, the staff took care of us. We turned up early with an extra guest, but this did not phase the team. We were quickly seated and our drinks order taken, fresh table water was quickly provided. The food order was taken at our convenience and service was swift. We all chose what we thought would be a lighter offering at only £7.95. When the food arrived we were astounded at not only the quality but also the quantity of food, I would not have been disappointed paying £12.95 for what we received. The food was delicious and hearty, with the quality of the ingredients stealing the show. Simple, quality food. Just what you need from a pub. Highly recommended 👌

took ages to be served, only half a bottle of wine left in the restaurant, my main meal came 20 minutes before my partner got hers
