The Met Dining Room is open!

We look forward to featuring Canadian, European, and French cuisines, as we provide an experiential learning experience to our Hospitality and Tourism Management students.

For Summerlicious hours (July 8th-19th, 2024) Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., Monday to Friday ONLY. We are closed for dinner and weekend services.
Please note we are not be open evenings.

Our hands-on learning environment allows our students to experience the exciting world of hospitality and tourism management, while guest are treated to fantastic food and drink at an extremely fair cost.
Come support the future of this incredible industry, and experience our hidden courtyard on the seventh floor, steps away from Yonge and Dundas Square.

I recently dined at The Met and was delighted at the fast, friendly service. The staff was so kind and welcoming, they gave informative feedback about menu options and were eager to help us make our decisions. We were sat next to a large window that overlooked a gorgeous patio - perfect for our rainy day lunch. The food was delicious! We had a lamb burger which was cooked perfectly- not over done. We also had the butter chicken which was fresh and provided a satisfying portion. The value is unmatched in the GTA The recommended wine paired perfectly with the meal options. This dinning experience was very enjoyable and the students seem more than comfortable in what seemed a supportive and inclusive learning environment. We cannot wait for the fall semester so we can visit again! Thank you all!

The dining room is a teaching space. The servers and kitchen are learning to become efficient professionals. Patience is required as the staff are still learning. Regardless, you get a decent meal at an exceptional price. Very casual atmosphere. It is difficult to get to the dining room as the building is locked. You may have to wait for someone to enter or exit first.

It was lovely to support learning of culinary students. The food was tasty - only complaint was that it could be hotter when served. Not all dishes were equally delicious as ours. Our server was learning, but was so sweet and accommodating. The wine list was great! It was a delight to go out to eat a nice meal and not have to worry about receiving a crazy high bill. Great effort and thank you!

Excellent quality of food overall, and tremendous value. The waitstaff who attended us was charming and engaged.

I had another great meal at the Met Dining Room. As we near the end of the semester, the students are more confident and efficient, and it seems that the food keeps getting better as well!

Great food! We had the tuna to start, and the mushroom risotto - so yummy! We also got brownies for dessert which were so moist and fluffy. The flavour on everything was great, especially the tuna which was extra yummy with the crispy onions. The students were friendly and the food came out fast. We were also warmly welcomed by the gentleman at the reception area: I think the value is great, and definitely nice to know you are supporting student learning. I love that we get to have great food and support the students with the Met Dining Room! Great job everyone :)

I had the tuna to start, the crispy onions give it a nice crunch and the sriracha provide a nice little spice. Follow by the roulade of chicken, it so yummy. The chicken literally melt in your mouth. The sauce was a match, its nice and rich. For dessert, the fluffy brownie with warm cameral sauce makes a perfect ending. Wonderful lunch. This is a learning experience as the staff are all students of the university. It nice to see them getting the hand on experience. It nice to know they put in the best effort in every time. The menu changes every two weeks so it nice to get to try something new.

Another wonderful lunch. Our server was very sweet and kept my water glass topped up. The tuna tanaki (appetizer) and chicken roulade were both amazing. The warm brownie with caramel sauce was a wonderful change from the usual bread puddings. Thanks again for a great lunch. Great value for the money 🙂
