Welcome to The Merchant’s Yard in Tideswell!

Located in the heart of the stunning Peak District National Park, this family-run business is the ideal setting for any occasion; whether it be a relaxing lunch, delectable afternoon tea or a mouth-watering three-course dinner from our selection of seasonal menus designed by the head chef. We choose local suppliers to ensure a fresh and high-quality meal.

Our friendly, knowledgeable, Front of House team will be on hand to guide you through our selection of menus. They will also help you with choosing the right cocktail, fine wine or ale to pair with your meal.

At the time of booking please add any dietary requirements and accessibility needs. The restaurant is set over three floors with our ground floor being accessible.

Food of spectacular quality, as always. We were a group of five with a toddler. The kids menu of chicken goujons, garden peas and chips deserves a special mention as the chicken breast and batter was so lovely! Sunday roast and the TMY burger were to die for! They brought us their last serving of horseradish sauce which was lovely.

Lovely setting in spacious and tastefully decorated building. Pizzas are good value. Some of the deserts are a bit pricey at £10.50 but would definitely go again.

Food was incredible and menu was brilliant but service was really below standard. Wasn’t busy and there seemed to be plenty of staff but took ages to order a drink, ordered 3 roasts and only 2 came out. Had to chase this up and ask about it to be told there was a mistake. By this time our food had gone cold. Then even after this still had to chase up where sauces were etc. massive shame as food was delicious but had to chase up everything we ordered which became a really painful and unrelaxing experience!

Have been to The Merchant Yard several times, for Sunday lunch. Lovely environment, staff attentive, nothing too much trouble & the food is absolutely delicious, hot & plentiful. Would highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed.

We booked for Sunday lunch while on holiday and were not disappointed. The food was so delicious. I’m gluten intolerant and asked if they could supply a GF Yorkshire pudding. They could not, however, I was given a GF roll and my roast came on a separate plate to everyone else’s roasts, i.e. GF gravy. Attentive service and lovely venue. Would highly recommend!

It was our first time at the Merchants Yard, we were celebrating our Wedding Anniversary and my birthday so it was a lovely delicious treat, my husband had an Ox Cheek starter and we both had the Sirloin Beef Sunday lunch, it was delicious and we'll certainly be back soon 😊
