Welcome to The Merchant’s Yard in Tideswell!

Located in the heart of the stunning Peak District National Park, this family-run business is the ideal setting for any occasion; whether it be a relaxing lunch, delectable afternoon tea or a mouth-watering three-course dinner from our selection of seasonal menus designed by the head chef. We choose local suppliers to ensure a fresh and high-quality meal.

Our friendly, knowledgeable, Front of House team will be on hand to guide you through our selection of menus. They will also help you with choosing the right cocktail, fine wine or ale to pair with your meal.

At the time of booking please add any dietary requirements and accessibility needs. The restaurant is set over three floors with our ground floor being accessible.

Had a lovely dinner and great service. I had roast beef which I loved and fellow diner had the Lamb starter which also was delicious. The young lady who was our server was really nice, very attentive and obviously genuinely friendly. This was our second visit and I can say this feels like a firm favourite of mine now

Great restaurant with a lovely contemporary vibe. Good service and really delicious food and reasonably priced too! All of our dishes were beautifully presented and perfectly cooked . Overall a wonderful night out with friends .

Outstanding food, excellent service. We enjoyed a very pleasant family dinner on a Wednesday evening. Service was friendly and prompt yet unhurried. Fabulous menu made it really hard to choose but there were no regrets, only plans to come back and try more! Recommend

Beautiful restaurant, really lovely service who accommodated me being on my own instead of coming as a party of two, and the food was delicious.

The young team running the bar & dining great are just great z Professional , friendly . What more can you ask The roast dinner here is one of the very best in the area. Not the cheapest but excellent value .The tables are big & if there’s 2 of you , you aren’t shoved in a tiny corner ! Highly recommended !

We enjoyed an excellent roast lunch at the Merchant Yard last Sunday. The venue is very attractive and welcoming and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding, one of the best Sunday lunches we’ve ever had. This was our first visit but it will certainly not be our last!

Our first visit and definitely not the last. Plan to stay next time as it is so lovely. The restaurant was a great find. An attractive venue with friendly staff and great food. Worth its 2AA rosette award. We booked a table for 1.30pm and were initially the only customers, however more people arrived as time went on. This helped improve the ambiance. We had canapés to start and then all had a different main of cod, pork and fish and chips. The quality of the food and taste was excellent. The staff engaged well with us and also deserve a mention.
