Set over 2 floors, expect an eclectic sharing menu based on a twist of contemporary pub classics - with an emphasis on East Asian flavours, complemented by a refined and inventive cocktail offering.
Later in the evening, focus will turn to the hi fi sound system manned by an array of selectors, programmed by The Cause, playing esoteric selections through ‘til 3am!

We made a date-night booking for ‘The Pub – Dining’ (with a preference for ‘Standard’ vs ‘Bar’ or ‘Counter’). On arrival it seemed the host wasn’t sure where to seat us and ended up making room for us at the bar. That may have been fine, but this was next to the service area and it was busy. People shouting their order over your shoulder and bumping into you with their drinks is not a great place to dine. We mentioned this and were swiftly moved to a counter by the inactive DJ booth. Much better! Two minor annoyances on the seating was that these were bar stools with any back support. This got uncomfortable after a while. There were also no hooks, so we were forced to sit on our jackets and have other belongings on our laps.
Ok, ok, how about the food??
We had the Dan Dan Noodles and Rendang Pie. Both were full of flavour. The noodles however seemed to be broken or cut short making it very difficult to eat with the provided spoons, knives and forks. I don’t think they’ve actually tried this experience out for themselves.
How about the ambience?
We were there on a Friday night and the atmosphere was banging. That’s what we love about the place. But the dining experience felt like an afterthought. Maybe we’ll dine here at a quieter time next time.

I booked for a party of 10 people for my boyfriend's birthday.
I arrived and was barely greeted by the person at front of house who told me to go downstairs and someone would show me to my table.
We went downstairs where I struggled to find anyone that would help me so we looked around the room for our table and found a card saying that I had a party of 2 people and was put round a small table with bar stools.

Tasty food in general but even while experimental in nature, I couldn’t connect the inspiration behind the dishes and their naming convention with the actual dishes. The dan dan noodles for example, aside from the Sichuan & flat noodles, lacked any other flavours or components or dan dan noodles and the Beef Rendang pie was pretty much just a beef pie with a well made jus.

The food was really amazing but unfortunately the restaurant wasn't really a good vibe to us. It certainly was a good vibe for others though! There were two group celebrations on going, one in the basement which was really rowdy. Another one upstairs which was also really loud. It was difficult to get service as it was so busy. Getting to the toilets was a mission due to the crowds, also being so rowdy someone was puking in there and there was no paper toilet by 8 pm as it was so busy. Not really what you want from a nice restaurant with bougie small plates! Our table (counter) was right by the basement stairs so drunk crowds would form and would bump into us as they were trying to get up or down. It was really uncomfortable, incredibly loud and just didn't match with the quality of the food we were served. I would unfortunately not come back unless I am with a huge group and we are the ones taking up all the space and making the restaurant feel like a rowdy pub 😅. I think the venue was under staffed for the amount of people in there, and this could've been better planned.
The food was so incredibly tasty, it's a shame!
Sorry team, I know you all did your best on the night - just thought I would give my honest feedback.

The food was absolutely divine - 10/10! Delicious range of small plates in sharing style with mouth watering flavours. Beautiful inside seating area, and amazing cocktail bar downstairs. Highly recommend!

Had to queue for a while to get in and when the hostess appeared she was incredibly rude. We were told we couldn’t have a table as booked but could be sat at the bar. When I requested a table she said ‘this is how restaurants work, you clearly don’t understand how restaurants work’ and continued to aggressively press her point. Honestly wouldn’t bother returning if this is the attitude to customers.

Lovely new spot with great atmosphere.
Food was delicious and good value - all sharing dishes.
We were there for the soft launch, so it was very busy... some of the service probably still needs ironing out, but staff was super friendly and helpful.
I will definitely be back.

The smaller plates we had - masala potato bread, Rendang pie, pork skewers - all very good. Decent portions of each and lovely flavour. Particularly the pie which was full or meat.
The Dan Dan noodles were generous and tasty however a bit too drowned in oil for us.
The venue looks good, nice atmosphere.
The wine we had was good and pretty reasonable.
Would return for drinks and small plates.

Really Excited to come here, but quickly disappointed. We booked to come on a Thursday after work as part of the Nudge offer. We were sat by Rosa at the counter at the bar itself, after this we waited quite a while to be served but we didn’t mind we knew they had just open and it was busy. When we got our drinks the cocktails were good. It took a while to order again we didn’t mind, food coming out was slow, some of our dishes were forgotten. What food we did have was ok however we did unfortunately find tinfoil within our rendang pie which was abit off putting. We politely said about it, they were quick to take this off the bill and did apologise, felt they delt with it correctly! We felt bad having to tell them.
Dishes continued to come out very slow and in the end we just asked for them to be canceled. I had to ask 3 times for the bill eventually Rosa came over to apologise and offered us both an aperitif on the house, which was kind. However the lady behind the bar got to shot glasses out in front of us then continued to serve about 20 other customers coming up to the bar about an hour later we asked again Rosa said they had run out of what we asked for which was fine but no communication from anyone that it was gone or couldn’t find what we had asked for.
We were just left with 2 empty shot glasses and still with no bill. At this point Rosa offered to comp our bill which was kind and she took my email to invite us back - I waited to write my review as I believe we were gonna get invited back but this email never turned up. Very disappointed with the entire experience and to invite us back and not follow through with it has just add further disappointment to the entire experience.

The food is absolutely delicious. Every plate is packed full of amazing flavour. Highly recommend the pickled tomato and watermelon salad!
The mango margarita in particular is something I'll be returning for.
I'd recommend the Marquee Moon to anyone wanting to have a bit of a "vibe" and buzzier atmosphere when dining, the food is high end without being pretentious and so is everything about this pub.
