Michael Anthony’s Market Cafe, the sister restaurant to Michael Anthony’s Cucina Italiana, features casual, trattoria-style dining for lunch and dinner plus an Italian specialty shop. Located just across the breezeway from Michael Anthony’s, we cater to almost all of your culinary desires.
Here we showcase a menu of lighter fare including sandwiches, salads, pasta, pizza and smaller portions of our chefs’ acclaimed meat and seafood dishes. We also have Italian coffees and a full bar. "Hilton Head Monthly" readers have voted us their “Favorite New Restaurant” and “Favorite Lunch Place.”
Join us for Happy Hour (4:30pm-5:30pm), when we offer specially-priced cocktails, wine and perfectly-sized snack plates.
Or stop in and browse our carefully-curated specialty foods. They include cheeses, fresh meats, house-made pastas, olive oil, tomato products, heat-and-serve entrees and homemade desserts.

Very reasonable prices and even if the prices were higher the food would still be worth it. Much better food quality than some more expensive places I’ve been to in the Island. Service was great, wine list not extensive but enough for any meal pairing. Would go back again.

Tables are too close for as quiet as it is - louder background music would help. Then I feel I could not have a conversation without being overheard. All staff talked in the “royal we” which was of, annoying, and then became laughable. I almost thought they might sit down with us to enjoy “our entrees” or “our bread”. Oh.. fabulous food. Just too quiet, close, and pretentious. No privacy for even the quietest of conversations.

We took the Cooking Class upstairs, which was a fabulous experience. Definitely will do that again. Our friends were visiting, and while we were in class, I made reservations for them downstairs. They had a great experience, too. The food was good, and the server was attentive. We highly recommend this restaurant.

This was our second visit to the Market Cafe. Looking forward to a return visit. We had a mix of orders from the happy hour menu and regular menu. We all loved our meals, the happy hour pizza is delicious, the caprese salad, chicken parm all very tasty. Our waitress Destiny was excellent, pacing of getting our drinks and then ordering was very nice. New fav happy hour!

MA’s cafe is ALWAYS exceptional. (As is the restaurant , I might add) Our server, Destiny, never disappoints either. She is always helpful and pleasant. But we really like all the servers at the Cafe. It is a weekly visit or us. Sometimes twice! Easily our fave place to dine at.

The food and service always great in the Cafe! And the portions are adequate and not overpriced. So nice not to feel like you have to bring home left overs.

Dinner last night with very special friends! Geo was our server, he’s excellent, very personable and always gets your orders right. Cocktails are delicious and food over the top. We also love stopping by and buying food from their freezer cases. Tastes perfect at home! Thank you to all who made our experience special last night.
