Silo Falls is a Historic Mansion located on 40 acres of rural land in Montgomery County, MD. The Mansion includes a full service kitchen & bar.
Within the Mansion there is a Grand Ballroom for Weddings & large events as well as a number of private rooms for dining or smaller events. The breathtaking property features a large lake, farm silo & many areas for beautiful photography.

Waitress was attentive, helpful and gracious. Likely needed another waitress on duty at the time to assist. Spent a wonderful leisure lunch with close friends who enjoyed the ambience, food and service.

Excellent atmosphere. Excellent service. The food was all room temperature or cold. All of the cream for the coffee was spoiled.

Although the food was tasty, our service person unfortunately got distracted by a large table in her section, leaving us high and dry with no drinks, despite our food being served to us by a runner. No one asked if we wanted anything to drink, nor did anybody bother to fill up our water. After the runner did a drive-by and dropped off our food without checking to see if there was anything else needed, we felt ignored . We essentially finished our meals before our waitress bothered to stop in and check to see how things were. At that point, it was too late to have a drink with dinner. She didn’t apologize; she knew we wanted to order drinks with our meals, because we mentioned so when we had our cocktails.And, the biggest food disappointment was the dessert; a brownie sundae is not a simple piece of chocolate cake with ice cream. Just saying. The room in which we sat was devoid of any real character. It felt like an auxiliary event space that had tables placed in it to accommodate diners. Fortunately, we sat by a window, so we could look on the side yard. Driving up to this establishment, and never having been here before, we had very high hopes. But, I would say the experience was average at best.

We had a wonderful time! Silo Falls is laid out with many different small rooms. I ask for a one for my 8 people. That is why I could put "quiet" in regard to noise level. It was perfect. Sam was our waiter! He was a Magician with drinks. Very friendly and knowledgeable! Service was beyond compare! The grounds are SO beautiful. Take the time to go out the back and see the Pond! The Lobster Ravioli was outstanding! Two people had burgers they truly enjoyed. One person had the Caesar Salad with Salmon. The Salmon filet was huge. He loved it. Another person had the Grain Bowl with Shrimp. Shrimp were large and he was very pleased. Two people had the Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo. Chicken was tender with plenty of sauce. The bruschetta and Calimari were outstanding!

I was so looking forward to eating here. Had heard great things from a friend, but was hugely disappointed. I was served "old" stale fries and "old" coleslaw with my fish. The server apologized and came back later with some "fresh" fries. After eating one bite of the slaw, I decided not to eat anymore or send it back. I could tell it was "old" when it was brought out. Don't plan to go back. Was looking at hosting an event there, but changed my mind. The fish was good and the dessert okay.

Service was very slow, but it was a Saturday and they were busy. Vegetables were so under cooked that I could not cut them with a knife. I asked our waitress to bring some which were cooked well done. She brought another plate which was not much better than the original. The salmon was overcooked. No one in our party was very satisfied with their meals. We like the ambience here but unfortunately the food and service are below par.

We went on the 4th of July, and the restaurants rooms were not crowded, though they had a fair number of patrons. Had a 5:30 reservation. Service was good. Food was not quite. Ordered the surf and turf, with the steak medium rare. Beef was overcooked (too much sear, Medium well - well) and the shrimp/crab and potatoes showed signs of sitting under a salamander. Shrimp was tough. Server took the steak back for a new one; took longer than expected and came out medium. Not medium rare. I ate it because we were getting close to the 7:00 close of the kitchen, flavor was fine and was a good cut of meat. Order affogato for dessert, but they were already disassembling and cleaning kitchen equipment before they closed the kitchen. Server didn't know what affogato was, so she had to come back to explain why they couldn't do it. Asked her to make it with coffee instead. She did her job as well as she'd been trained and was very apologetic: but whoever trains the servers and the cooks on a holiday needed a reminder. Server was underprepared to talk about the menu (not a huge menu). Chefs were overwhelmed or unaware of different temperatures of meat. The atmosphere reminded us of the kinds of places our grandparents would take us when the country club was overbooked on a holiday. Very eclectic and distracting playlist on the sound system. Menu looked great, appropriately priced, flavors were delicious, probably great when everything is running at full steam, even better in the winter when the fireplaces are going, but on an early-closing Holiday, the seams were showing and it was fine. Not as expected. Would recommend as a stand-alone spot for someone in the area.

Roasted Beet Salad with Salmon was wonderful. Caterina was a wonderful server, shared some appetizer recommendations that everyone enjoyed and was always there to refill drinks before being asked! They offer a 10% discount if you are dining there before seeing a show at Olney Theatre Center.
