Silo Falls is a Historic Mansion located on 40 acres of rural land in Montgomery County, MD. The Mansion includes a full service kitchen & bar.
Within the Mansion there is a Grand Ballroom for Weddings & large events as well as a number of private rooms for dining or smaller events. The breathtaking property features a large lake, farm silo & many areas for beautiful photography.

    The setting is quite pretty both inside and outside. Our server was polite and attentive. I ordered a cocktail on their menu and was informed that they didn’t have the ingredients— rather odd. We ordered the black and blue burger, the petite filet and the bucatini with crispy chicken. My husband loved the burger and ate it all. The chicken is a rich and filling dish. I could only eat half — it was very good but not outstanding. My mother’s filet was the smallest piece of meat I have ever seen served in a restaurant! Believe the menu that it is petite. She liked her meal despite the tiny portion except the spinach was very bitter with too much garlic. She said the mashed potatoes were delicious. For dessert we had the crème brûlée cheesecake which was yummy. My husband order an aperitif off the dessert menu and again they said they didn’t have any. Oddly the dessert menu is presented with half the items vigorously crossed out with pen. Not a good look. When we left it was dark. We tried to walk down the ramp because my elderly mother has mobility issues and it was pitch black! Add some lights! We could barely make our way to the car because she couldn’t t see. Overall we enjoyed our evening but there is room for improvement.

    This is my second visit and enjoyed it as much as the first time we went. Both times were with different friends and everyone loved it. Food was delicious and ambience is perfect.

    Silo Falls has a new chef, and hot dishes were no longer on the lunch menu. My friends and I missed those. We were assured that they would return before long.

    We were first seated in a dreary room with horrible lighting with only one other table of people in the room. Not the best use of their space since the restaurant was not crowded. We asked to change to an outdoor table. We had a much more pleasant experience. The ambience, service, and food were all very good.

    Ordered a salad which was composed of mostly rolled prosciutto and lots of green ((grass ?) which couldn't be cut with a knife or even chewed. Told waitress but she didn't respond. It was my friend's birthday which I noted when I made my reservation online. You advertise free dessert for the birthday gal Which we mentioned to the waitress. When the bill came she had charged us for 2 desserts. When I questioned it, she said she would ask her manager. Came back with a credit to the bill. I'm wondering why the manager never shows up.

    Joseph, We apologize for your experience with what I presume is the melon salad and will be happy to pass your feedback on to the kitchen in regards to the dish so we can improve it moving forward. Typically when a birthday desert is ordered, we will ring it onto the bill and then remove it, showing the credit to the bill. However, this should have been taken care of before you were presented with the final check.     Disappointed- we’ve enjoyed great meals here previously it this time things went very wrong. We had a 6:15 reservation and by 7:40 we had not received our dinner. Our waitress was very pleasant and apologized repeatedly but ultimately we decided to leave. By the time we left everyone in the outside dining area had been served except us. The manager came over and she apologized as well, saying it was Labor Day and they were short staffed. She gave us a gift card to come back but nevertheless our evening had been ruined. We were told they have a new chef so I hope he/she is able to correct whatever went wrong that evening.

    Service was very slow. Both our dishes were delivered cold but we did not want to send it back in order to finally leave on time

    Unfortunately, our first experience of brunch was not good. The salmon scramble was tasty but there was no side dish such as a salad or potatoes - just 2 big pieces of charred white bread on top. Brunch is expected to have some flair, some aesthetic appeal, some care taken with the meal to make it more special than a diner breakfast. My husband's croque madame was really awful, those same big pieces of bread, eggs on top, ham in the middle, the whole thing swimming in a sauce in a tiny plate and the prosciutto was serrano ham and very tough. Silo F needs to get the bugs out of brunch.
