Situé à 1,5 km du centre-ville de Healdsburg, le restaurant récompensé d'une étoile au guide Michelin, le Madrona Manor, occupe une demeure victorienne au cœur de la région viticole de Sonoma. Le chef Jesse Mallgren profite le plus souvent possible de la multitude de produits locaux de saison provenant des jardins du domaine. The interior of The Madrona is spectacular. They have done a great job of preserving the historic look and feel without making it feel old and smelly. The staff was friendly and efficient. In all this elegance and splendor our server wore an apron with a bunch of pens and an order book in it. What? Are we at Dennys? I had the Halibut, which was good, and my husband ordered the steak. When we went to order glasses of wine my husband was very disappointed there was not a Cabernet on the list to go with his steak. There were Zins, Pinots and a red blend from Lodi. I don’t remember seeing any Sonoma wines on the by the glass wines which I thought was interesting. Our server graciously gave him tastes of different wines so he could find something he liked. So I guess for us it was a good experience, not a great one.

I recently dined at The Madrona with a party of 6 and had a mixed experience that I felt compelled to share. The ambience of the restaurant is truly lovely, creating a beautiful setting that enhances the dining experience. The decor strikes a perfect balance between elegance and comfort, making it a pleasant place to spend an evening. The hostess and bar personnel were exceptional, providing a warm welcome and attentive service that set a positive tone for the evening. Unfortunately, as the restaurant became busier, the service slowed down significantly. While I understand that peak hours can be challenging, it did affect our overall experience. We started with some appetizers, which were delightful and well-prepared, followed by second courses that maintained that high standard. However, the mains fell a bit short of expectations. The Chicken Poullard, in particular, lacked flavor and left us wanting more. Additionally, I found the wine selection to be limited and overpriced. It would have been nice to see a broader range of options at various price points, as it felt somewhat restrictive for a restaurant of this caliber. Overall, The Madrona is a beautiful place worth visiting for its atmosphere and the quality of the starters and second courses. However, given the slow service during busy times and the underwhelming mains, along with the overpriced wine selection, I may hesitate to return for dinner.

Wow! Absolutely blown away. Visited The Madrona for my friends birthday and just wow. Our server, Madison, was extremely friendly, kind and competent of the menu and offered unique suggestions. She was the perfect server for our group and was attentive and helpful. The hostess was friendly and informative of the property and the F&B director, Moira, made a personal visit to our table. Personable and friendly staff - perfect for a restaurant/property like this. The property is stunning. We came at night, and we’re still in awe of the grounds but I can’t imagine how beautiful it would be in the daytime! The interior is beautiful, elegant and very European-inspired. Intimate and classy would be the best way to describe the space. We were sitting in a back room of the bottom floor - unsure of the full layout of the restaurant and what the other spaces may be, but it was comprised of a few tables, real candle lighting and again, intimate. It was the perfect noise level for me with a few other parties in close proximity yet still enough privacy. (There are 3 tesla chargers on site if this applies to you!) The food. Wow! We ordered the edamame spread with warm pita bread - amazing! The burrata is a must get, the caviar and onion dip was probably the best thing on the table all evening. I ordered the burger and it was a good, basic, nothing fancy, choice. My boyfriend ordered the Braised Lamb Gnocchi - and my oh my! Mouth watering. My friend ordered the Saffron Angel hair and was tempted to order more to go. So delicious. Can’t pass up the desserts- ice cream sundae and delicious Affogato. Will be back! Good choice for an elegant, tasty and filling meal.

We have come to the madrona for drinks on several occasions - beautiful space/creative drinks. This was our first dinner - food was very good - service was very poor. Not enough staff and not well trained. Disappointing.

My wife and I had dinner to celebrate my birthday. We shared a salad that was delicious. Our server was very attentive. Thirty minutes passed before our entrees were ready. I suspect that was due to a large number of guests dining on the patio. My wife had halibut and loved the plate. I had chicken paillard that was outstanding. Overall, a wonderful meal.
