Aimee Olexy and Stephen Starr's The Love is a bi-level sanctuary features 150 seats, split between the main dining room, sidewalk seating, and an upper-level loft. The restaurant is a spirited and carefree neighborhood café celebrating everyday American cuisine.     First time here. I had the shrimp and scallop entree and my wife the pork chop entree, both excellent. For an appetizer we had the charcuterie board and that was a nice addition to compliment our wine selection. We will return.

    We loved it! We got three different items and they were all amazing! This is on the list to come back to! And the service was excellent!

    Ate there last night for our 25th anniversary and couldn't have had a better experience. The hostesses were patient with me wanting to change tables and our servers (Katharine and Michaela) were knowledgeable and friendly. The food was outstanding - my husband said the fried chicken was the best he's ever had and the mushroom soup had a ton of flavor. I enjoyed the tuna crudo (perhaps next time without the a bit too chewy rice paper) and the salmon with sticky rice. The apple tarte tatin was also just the right size after a big meal. Looking forward to going there again.

    I had a great evening with a friend. The restaurant was beautiful, we sat inside. We were there early but restaurant quickly filled up. The staff was very attentive to our needs. The food was cooked perfectly and very tasty. Unfortunately I didn't have room for dessert. Would definitely return again

    Evening didn't start off great, as they sat us 20 minutes late for a 7:30 reservation. I get that this happens and is out of the restaurant's control, but at least acknowledge it with an apology or a free appetizer or something? Next, we really enjoyed our drinks and the appetizers, but the entrees came out slow and separate. Two of the five diners received their entrees significantly earlier than the rest, so their food started to get cold. Again, I get that this happens, but 10+ minutes separation in serving is a bit too long for this expensive of a restaurant (and it wasn't particularly busy this late in the evening). Also, it was so loud in this restaurant that we could hardly hear each other. I'm 30 and have decent hearing! In terms of the food, I rarely eat vegetarian but was in the mood, so I had the plant power bowl, and it tasted like a can of curry broth and some mixed veggies. Not worth $30. Two other diners had the Lovebird friend chicken and gave pretty mediocre reviews. Again, not worth $33. This place is in a good location and would probably be great for a business meal, but I wouldn't recommend having a special evening here. There are too many other good options in the city.
