Pleasant experience in the lounge for afternoon tea at eastwell manor. Rather a small ish area so when people are talking can get quite noisy in there. Food came in decent time but I wouldn’t say anything special. Quite small scones and sandwiches tasty but slightly dry. There is an extra service charge on the price so a tea that was supposed to be £68 for two people cost £74.

Had a really nice afternoon tea for 2 Staff were very welcoming & polite Cakes were delicious I would say the only thing that could have been improved was the sandwich fillings. I didn't mind them but the selection could be improved

The ambience is wonderful however value for money is definitely not. Sandwich filling almost non existent, sausage roll minute. Scones delicious cakes not made on site. There were three of us I had a voucher for two it still costs us £52.50 ??

We booked a table at 1 pm and had to ask 40 minutes later for our food to be told there had been a problem in the kitchen I asked why weren’t we told this at the start The sandwich were dry and just as we got them the fire alarm went off so we spent another 20 minutes waiting outside ( understand this was out of your hands)

Went with my daughter for afternoon tea. We arrived about 25 minutes early but were happy to wait for our slot. It was too rainy to walk around the beautiful grounds so we sat in a waiting area. After 10 minutes we were ushered in and seated a a table and then ignored After about 25 minutes someone took our tea order but still no food or tea arrived. Eventually after we had been waiting for 45 minutes we asked whether we would be served soon and were told just a few minutes. When it finally arrived the food was lovely. But to be kept waiting that long was unacceptable.

Make sure you make a note of any special requirements when booking. Even though I ordered vegan and gluten free for my daughter they did not have any scones for her, although they did a few years ago, and her plate looked quite sad. Check your cups when you arrive as two of our four had tea stains and had to be changed. Allow plenty of time as although our booking was 2.45 pm, our food arrived at 4.0 pm meaning our drinks had got cold. A very disappointing afternoon that had meant to be a special treat for my son visiting from America with his American lady friend.

They had clearly overbooked, we were out in the court yard where it was windy and blowing our table cloth round and the wasps were becoming friendlier than we’d like. There was no other customers in the area, I wonder why? There was a van being loaded and turning round in the court yard. It was C out anniversary so a little disappointed with the effort Eastwell Manor put in.

Overall this was a disappointing visit, sadly. The reception staff were very good, welcoming and helpful. We arrived early for a pre-booked Afternoon Tea, shown our table, all good so far. The pots of tea were on the table within 10 minutes. However, after waiting 50 minutes for our food, and watching at least 2 tables who arrived after us get served first, we felt a little peeved!! And hungry! The 2 serving staff did not notice/care we were sitting there twiddling our thumbs, the room isn't that big that we were hidden! No-one approached us to apologise and find out why there was such a delay. When the food eventually turned up they did apologise for the wait, and the sandwiches and cakes were very nice, but the whole afternoon was marred by the lack of communication between us, the staff and the kitchen. So not a place I would recommend for an Afternoon Tea based on our experience.

It was a lovely experience and our waiter James was so friendly and helpful. A perfect way to spend an afternoon.
