Terrible service, and the waiter pretty much disappears after taking your order so if you want anything more you can forget about it. Also, nobody to get the check and even if you go to the counter, there’s no one there so you have to literally look for someone to pay. I’d heard so many good things about this place before I visited but I guess it has changed in the past year or so.

Brilliant staff service ambience food and atmosphere. Perhaps a little clearer signage for the lounge outside but overall brilliant venue .

Unfortunately my gluten free high tea was a disaster to put it mildly. The GF scones in particular were unbelievably bad! I could not cut them, I attempted to taste them which were not palatable, they were like rubber. Chef/cook needs to learn how to cook GF. I suggest you try Hydro Majestic GF high tea which is perfect in comparison. No one asked how did I enjoy my high tea, I think they were too scared to ask knowing it would not be complementary. Serving pot of tea well in advance of receiving the high tea food is also not acceptable as tea was Luke warm by time food arrived. I was looking forward to the high tea as I have been in the past which was acceptable. I can only think that you now have a very inexperienced new chef/cook to deal with GF orders. I will not be rushing back to experience such bad GF food.

We had high tea in the afternoon, it was very nice, we were a little bit surprised that it was exactly the same food as we had had 12 months ago, thought there may have been some slight changes. My only downside was there was a youngish girl sitting not far from us and she talked non stop at a reasonable loud level and the adult with her never suggested she talk quieter, nor did the staff and we found it a bit disturbing.

We had a lovely, civilised escape from the summers heat and enjoyed a peaceful high tea. There was more lovely food than we could eat so prepare yourself with a light breakfast if your going.

Beautiful ambience - lovely room. Excellent service. All staff were friendly and polite. They were very attentive. Nice,well prepared food. A view of the Blue Mountains would have topped it off.

Food was very good; service non-existent: not one staff member (and there were lots of them) smiled. Greeter seemed stunned to have someone with a reservation… en route to table he stopped to chat with another table, took over 10 minutes to come back to take the order, wine arrived way before food, tea didn’t arrive until a second reminder given & we were almost finished; tea ought to have been hot - not just lukewarm, would have been nice to have had a hot water pot to accompany the tea pot. I’d suggest go for the food , not the service./ don’t see why it’s listed as a “must do” - it’s nothing to really write home about!!!
