A traditional pub serving contemporary English food in the heart of Fitzrovia. The Lore is composed of The Pub on the ground floor, The Kitchen on the first floor and Private room with bar on the top floor.

All of our food is freshly prepared by Head Chef Michal Kaszuba and his brigade in the Lore kitchen on the first floor. Our menus have been created especially to reflect the seasons, when ingredients are at their very best.
Our legendary Sunday roast is slow-cooked with delicious trimmings.

THE PUB
A copper and pewter topped bar serving a range of beers, including our very own Gritchie brews, premium spirits, cocktails and selected wines. The walls are adorned with eclectic and original artwork.

THE KITCHEN
Open plan but still intimate. Experience the sight and sound of our open kitchen with the Chefs cooking on our bespoke, charcoal fuelled oven and char-grill.

THE PRIVATE ROOM
A wonderful private room with private bar on its own floor.

Food is incredible. Great choice of steaks and seafood. Try the donut for dessert.

Booked table for my family for my 65th birthday celebration. Made to feel welcome as soon as i entered the pub ( down stairs from dining area ) , this was my first visit. The Barman made all the family welcome as they arrive and promptly served us with the drinks we requested. The excellent service continued upstairs, our waiter ( lulian ) again made us welcome, explained the menus, both food and drinks. The food was great, i had the steak and cooked to perfection as i ordered. Our waiter served each of us with the attention we were dinning by ourselves, nothing was too much for him, also his recommendation for the white wine was gratefully appreciated by my daughter and daughter in law. the nice surprise was my birthday doughnut served to me and a chorus of happy birthday, nicely the other diners joined in. Smashing day, thanks to all the team for making it a special day to remember my 65th by. ps i hope i have read the name correctly off the bill. If not i booked table of 6 for David Goulding-Huckle at 12.45pm 20/7. Maybe that will help if i have got it wrong.

What a fabulous experience! We arrived early was welcomed and had a tour around the downstairs The decor gives the place the typical London pub character with walls crashed out with an eclectic mix old paints paintings The restaurant upstairs is small and lively with an open kitchen. The staff were friendly and very professional. The food and wine very good. It was a shame the scotch eggs were not on the restaurant menu although a staff member did say they would get one from the bar but my son then changed his mind. The 3 of us had the sourdough bread with lovage butter followed by Beetroot Gnocchi, Pork Loin and Mackerel… All of which we would highly recommend. The beer got a thumbs up by my husband and son. I had 2 glasses of the house rose which was very drinkable. I couldn’t resist having the Lore Doughnut as I was curious, it was very light, it was gone in a flash, as I didn’t want to share. We will definitely return to this uniques place

The food here is fantastic, memorable in fact. I have eaten in many Michelin Star restaurants, pubs, fine dining establishments and the food at the Lore of the Land stands at one of the tastiest meals I've ever had. I had the smoked trout to start, and honestly I did not want it to end, fresh, delicate, tasty and lovely texture, the presentation was also excellent. Then I had a Sirloin Steak, it was juicy, tender, perfectly cooked, obviously well sourced and cooked with love. We do not live local and booked to come here in advance. We will be back and considering the amount of choice in and around London, that says it all!!

Great food and atmosphere! Highly recommend coming here. Booked about 6 weeks out which wasn’t great as only had a few late sittings left but it worked out well.
