The Loch & the Tyne is all about sustainable British luxury. The perfect countryside location for exclusive weddings, private events and country getaways.

A true Adam Handling restaurant in style, the menu showcases the best of British produce with a huge emphasis on sustainable practices, featuring ingredients from its own vegetable gardens and orchard. Adam’s take on a traditional British pub, The Loch & the Tyne is open 5 days a week, from Wednesday to Sunday.
The pub offers a relaxed and cosy space where guests can pop in for a quick drink or retreat for the day trying out the thoughtfully-curated list of local craft beers and wine. We very much celebrate English wines, both still and sparkling.
We are dog and children friendly pub. Our cosy lounge area is dedicated for the guests with the dogs and little ones - please let us know prior your booking so we can accomodate you accordingly.

From initial greeting to seating you’re given a warm welcome. Drinks orders are taken and then your left to enjoy the ambience of the restaurant. Snacks are a big player here, the cheese doughnuts and bacon jam are worth the 120 drive alone, but the bread with chicken butter and black pudding and apple Bon Bon’s are just as delicious. We had the special of the day, a Steak, Wild-mushroom and Onion Pie with a red wine gravy served on garlic mash. Again perfectly cooked and full of flavours. Desert was Tarte Tatin that comes with a great scoop of salted caramel ice cream and a jug of custard. I think value for money, this is one of the best restaurants/gastro pubs you can visit. The ethos of Adam Handling is about complete usage of product, low waste and sustainability. You’re eating in a beautiful setting, with attentive staff and Michelin level food for a fantastic price. I also love that NO service charge is added to your bill, allowing you to tip accordingly, instead of feeling obliged. But as always this is something I’m left wanting to do rather than feeling like I should. I love everything about chef Adam’s establishments and will always return for another installment! Thank you

Steak was amazing as well as the chocolate fondant. Very good cocktails and service. Highly recommend it.

We like this restaurant and visit it quite regularly however on this occasion our outing mfeatured highs and lows. We brought along a couple of American friends and hoped for a good outcome. It was Burns night. There was a piper and that was quite novel but when the “English” piper proceeded to attempt to address the haggis with a script from his phone it really was a pathetic attempt at honouring the bard. Our cocktails took and age to arrive and one of our party requested that his rocks martini arrive in a tumbler. That didn’t happen and another asked for a negroni that was served in such a small glass the waiter delivering it spilled it all over the table. Also martinis….no olives! The starters were good arriving at the same time as the chicken butter and bread which we would have liked earlier with the cocktails. However the burger our American friend ordered was well below par and overcooked. He couldn’t eat it. The waiter made some excuse about it containing pork and had to be over cooked. He offered an alternative but by then we had all finished our main courses and our friend was quite put off by the experience. We will be happy to come again some time and give L and T another try as we are local but on this occasion when we wanted our guests to be blown away (as we have been before) it was disappointing.

Fabulous stay & dinner for my husbands birthday, service very friendly, food delicious, great ambience, we felt very spoilt, thank you Evance for looking after us at the bar!

Burns Night menu was absolutely delicious. Menu set to allow to taste the best dishes. We absolutely loved it and so did our 8 years old

We just had a wonderful lunch. It was a special occasion, a thank you for my brother in law. We let the staff know beforehand and they were fantastic. The food, service and ambiance were all excellent. We would thoroughly recommend dining at the Loch and the Tyne.

Wine entry price too high for a gastro pub. Small plates are very small, and need making clear they are small tapas. The pate was an h’ors dovre not a starter. Tables are close together so a noisy table nest to you makes it difficult to hold a conversation. Venison main and fish and chips, very good and generous portions.
